My wife's sister is in a long term care home in Whitby where only one resident is negative for the virus. My SIL isn't too bad yet but sadly many of the folks have died.

For 4 or 5 years a group of us from this board used to close out the musky season on the Upper Niagara at Fort Erie, mainly because that was the only place that wasn't frozen over. It was usually the weekend before the 15th and we'd all meet at the launch at sunrise, then fish till sunset and then head for dinner at a local restaurant. It was always a fun trip with a bunch of great guys and a perfect way to end the season.

Personally, I'll base my decision on the vaccines on the recommendations of scientists and medical experts rather than a few people on a fishing website that THINK their experts on everything.
-
I've had many many great days of musky fishing without catching a single fish. As "they" always say, catching a fish is just a bonus.

Off topic, sorry Dave, but a neighbors brother picked up his lawnmower with his fingers under each side of the housing last year while it was still running and removed the tips of all 8 fingers. Sometimes you just need to scratch your head.

Once you figure out the pattern and the proper baits for the time those 50 inchers will be jumping in your boat LOL

I'm always very respectful of power tools but one day I was running a board thru a table saw and I spose I got it twisted and the darned thing shot back and hit my hand, then bounce up and knocked a tool off the wall and then dented my furnace. The pain in my hand was excruciating and I was afraid to look down as I was sure I'd taken my hand off. I lucked out though and it was just a hard knock but I still think of that day every time I fire up the saw.

Beautiful birds and we're fortunate to have a few around here too, this fella is helping to remove a dead tree from my backyard.

Not a problem at all Dan, I just came across that video on Youtube and actually thought of your rig right away and hoped it may be interesting or useful to some on here.

We buy our groceries at Foodland in Lakefield and a couple years back while I was loading the bags into my truck my wife stopped at the cash machine in the store and withdrew $200. After we got home she realized she didn't have the cash with her. She called the store right away and told them how much money was missing and sure enough someone had found the money still in the slot on the machine and turned it in. My wife thought back and remembered while she was at the machine someone came by that she knew and they got yakkin and my wife forgot to pick up the loot. Person that found the money never even left their name so we had no idea who it was but my wife contacted the local small town newspaper and told them what happened and they wrote the story in the paper so hopefully the good samaritan read it and knows how much their honesty meant.

I came up thru Bridgenorth about 8:30 this morning and could see ice on the west shore around the causeway and then a bit further north it was right across the lake, but with the bright sun today, your right, it may not have lasted too long.
-
Funny you posted this Bernie as I just came in the house and was gonna post that Chemong Lake in the Kawarthas is freezing up too, infact a mile north of the causeway it's skimmed right a cross.

Great read Drew and some very impressive fish to go along with it.

The only grocery store in the area burned down last night so if you travel in that area you'll need to make other arrangements. Really sad to see this sorta thing happen. https://kawarthanow.com/2020/12/05/sayers-food-in-apsley-suffers-major-fire-early-saturday-morning/

Anybody see the flash from that meteor yesterday ? I didn't see it myself but they're saying that darned thing was travelling 30 KM a SECOND. Hard to even imagine something that quick LOL

I did mine last month also and had it in about 2 weeks.

I bought a new 90HP Merc 4 stroke in 1999 and put a ton of hours on it over the next 10 years and never had a single issue with it. I sold it to a bud in 2009 and he drove it for another 7 or so years before it needed it's 1st repair. I'd say 17 problem free years is pretty darned impressive. I bought a new 150 Yamaha 4 stroke in 2010 and drove that one for 7 years before I quit fishing but they were also problem free years when I sold it. I've always figured if you take care of your gear and keep it well maintained it'll last you a long time.

Thanks Bud, I ordered one this morning

Thanks boys, but I read some reviews on those Amazon knock-offs and it seems as if they don't work well in the camera but I'll look into the ones you linked to.
