Thanks Art, we've actually been having great weather up here but it just struck me as funny that we got this snow on April 1st LOL

I just lightened the picture a little bit and the camera is a Canon SX730HS
-
Thanks Terry, I'm impressed with this little camera.

Took this picture this morning with my little p & s and was surprised at the detail that came out. I was just resting the camera on the deck railing so there's movement with the camera but it looks good for just fooling around. You can even see the ridges of the craters on the outside edges.

My wife was out for her daily hike this morning and came across 2 small deer and one of them had similar markings to the one pictured above. They were just up the road from here so hopefully I'll get a picture of her. I have no idea if this is hereditary or not but I'm guessing it is seeing as it's only a week since I saw the adult and only a short distance away. When I took that last picture she had a fawn with her but the baby had normal markings but I spose it's not uncommon for a deer to have more than one baby at a time.
-
Yeah, that little fawn had a nasty gash on her left side just ahead of her hip. I was never closer than 100' from her but looking thru binoculars it never appeared to bleed and there was never any blood around and it didn't seem to bother her at all and she could still run like the wind. I watched her for a couple months and she still seemed fine.....fingers crossed. And thanks to the others that posted, good to hear you enjoyed the pictures.

Some of you may recall I posted a picture last winter of a very uniquely coloured deer that was hanging around my backyard with her fawn. Yesterday afternoon she showed up again with another fawn so it was a real treat to see her again although she was back in the trees so I couldn't get a good picture but this one of her behind a shed isn't too bad. Always nice to see critters that are a bit different from the norm. First picture is from last year and the 2nd. one with the shed roof was yesterday.

Interesting Truck Option, lifesaver during an outage
lew replied to dave524's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
I know in my area, 100 miles north east of Toronto, they're quite common and I probably know at least a dozen people on my road alone that have them. I installed mine nearly 11 years ago and would never be without one again. For anyone in the country on wells and pumps I'd say it's some of the best money you could spend. -
Covid 19 and Canadian Border closing
lew replied to Pochucker's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
We have very close friends in Pennsylvania who holiday with us up here every June but sadly they missed it last June and there's every possibility we won't get together this year either. We ALL want this nightmare ended but as Dan said we don't want to push things and open the gates too early and we all end up back tracking. -
I was watching a Youtube video on motorhomes & trailers this morning John and they were saying the average price on RV's for 2021 has gone up at least 7% across the USA but he didn't mention Canada but I'd assume it'll be similar increases. Like everything else they're citing higher demand and much lower inventory because of Covid.

That's interesting Brian, when I was out for my morning hike today there was fog on Clear lake too.

...from the back deck last night. Just messing around with a new camera and trying a couple things.

Lake Joseph or Rosseau - Ice conditions (and bait shop open ?)

No relapses at all Jon and I don't miss it at all. I've had plenty of offers and did go out once for a few hours but the enjoyment wasn't there and I never went again. There's still a small group of us go up to Nippissing every year but now rather than going out fishing we sit on the shore and talk about about it instead LOL -

Can't help with your question Jon but good to see your still around and doing well. -
I've said it before but I spose it's worth repeating here. I bought a new 90 HP Merc 4stroke back in '99 and drove it for 10 years and put a ton of hours on it and the motor was absolutely perfect the entire time and never needed a single repair. I sold it to my bud after 10 years and he he put another pile of hours on it and drove it for another 6 or 7 years before it needed it's 1st actual repair. Yes, I'd recommend a 90 Merc. I bought a new 150 Yamaha when I sold the Merc and drove it for 7 years and again it was absolutely flawless just like the Merc. Yes, I'd recommend a Yamaha. I do all my own maintenance on a regular basis and that certainly helps keeping anything working.

Hey Bud, remember this day ?? Fun times for sure !!
-
He does look somewhat familiar...
-
I mention black & orange above and that was for large spinnerbaits that I ALWAYS started my day with if I was casting and caught me more fish than any other bait I had. Your right about yellow & black though Rob, that's another good combo. One of my favorite trolling baits was a yellow & black jailbird coloured 10" Believer and my best twitch bait was a yellow & black jailbird coloured Double "D". The Double "D" doesn't come in that colour from the factory but I painted mine and they really produce a lot of fish. I had other colours but none worked like the yellow & black combo
-
You'll never go wrong with black & orange.

My best bud actually bought one of those Bell trucks and painted it brown with a yellow stripe running down the side. It was even uglier than when it was ugly green LOL

Thinking of moving out of the provence....
lew replied to tb4me's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
I've always really enjoyed Nova Scotia and have spent a lot of time there. I was stationed in Halifax for 3 years in the 60's when I was in the Navy and my wife and I have travelled back several times for vacations along with New Brunswick & PEI You mentioned Truro and I immediately remembered this guy. We were staying in the Truro Hampton Inn hotel right on the highway and I spotted him and his dog hiking down the road. He was wearing a skirt and pushing a baby carriage full of everything except a baby. No idea what he was doing but I think of him every time I hear the name Truro LOL -
Nope, even in the 50's it was about as exciting as watching 5 pin bowling on our 6" TV screen LOL

Your a good man to have around when folks get in trouble Dan. 👍
