  1. Funny as I just said to my wife a few minutes ago that it seemed like the bad weather missed us. We've got some wind but nothing extreme and some light rain but it looks like we're gonna get hammered later today.
  2. Be good if you could give us a play by play with pictures as you go thru the rebuild process, I think everyone enjoys following that sorta thing.
  3. Purty fish Bill, really bright colours.
  4. Good story Chris and the boat looks brand new.
  5. Excellent job on the new floor tomkat, it looks great.
  6. Ain't that the truth LOL
  7. Great video Brian, we all owe a huge thank you to those hero's who stepped up to fight in all the wars we've been involved in.
  8. Home Depot pails are dirt cheap too, I've got a few and they're less than $4
  9. By the time COSTCO opens early for the seniors I'm already having lunch LOL
  10. Praise from a loving child is about the best gift a father can receive.
  11. You won't ever regret that decision
  12. Looked out the window awhile ago and see this little fox digging around what's left of a flower bed. Always nice to have the local critters stop by.
  13. Always good when a plan comes together and nice to hear Rapala looks after their customers.
  14. 14F over here right now in my little corner of paradise.
  15. If you can stay just outside of the landing zone of those big Bulldogs there's the odd decent fish swimming around. LOL
  16. Good stuff Dan, and always nice to see a young fella get his 1st nice fish.
  17. Thanks Andrew, never stayed there myself but the park is always loaded with trailers the public beach is very popular and is jammed on a nice summer day
  18. Were your folks in the actual Lakefield Campground down by the dam & locks ? We were on the west side of Katchawanooka about 5 minutes south of Youngs Point. Still a beautiful area all through here.
  19. We had a trailer in a little park near Lakefield (north of Peterboro)for 36 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Made plenty of lifelong friends and great memories to last forever. I now live only a few minutes from there.
  20. Not disagreeing with you but if you buy the proper full windshield boat you can have more front deck space than lots of single console boats and the windshield won't interfere with your casting either. I could dance on the front deck of my last boat with all the room it had. Nothing like a bass boat of course but the protection from the elements made up for it....at least in my opinion.
  21. I've had them all, tiller, side console and full windshield and they all have good and bad points depending on what your doing. Tillers are nice, as long as they have a flat floor, as that makes moving around the boat easy with no obstructions but they offer no protection from lousy wet days. I had a Crestliner 1650 SC for a long time and the side console was nice as it gave the driver protection from the elements when running around the lake on nasty days but does nothing for the passenger(s). You do have to work around the console but I never found that to be an issue and the bigger the boat the less hassle it will be. You don't mention full windshield boats so I assume you don't want one but they sure are nice, especially with a fully enclosed top that protects everyone when the weathers is cold and wet and the cold fall winds are howling. As I said above they all have good points and bad, you just have to pick whet works best for your style of fishing.
  22. Wish I had one now, infact a convertible, it was always one of my favorites. ....Sorry for the hijack 😁
  23. I'm another one that used the Mitchell 300's back in the day. Sorta like an old Chevy, nothing fancy but pretty darned reliable.
  24. Been about 3 years now since I quit fishing but I still miss those big hit's
