Just for comparison, I paid $125 for a 45" skin mount 4 decades ago. Seemed like a lot of $$$$ way back then.

That's the reason for draining your gear oil and refilling in the fall, it'll get rid of any water that may be in there and eliminate the possibility of it freezing and damaging you casing. Course if you find water, you need to also fix whatever is allowing it to get into your lower unit in the 1st place.

I always get a chuckle outta the TV news stations..specially Toronto...when they do their weather reports from the salt yards every time there's some snow coming to town. Seems everything over 1" of snow is gonna be a disaster and shut the province down.

I was there for your 1st pike g2g Brian and it was a great day and hopefully this one will be as good !!

Sposed to be cool for the next few days around here but then climbing to about +6 by next weekend and staying like that for awhile, so that should get some melting happening. Hope it doesn't cause any damage to your place.

We have deer everywhere around here Cliff, infact there's 5 or 6 in the yard right now and usually a few turkeys too, but I NEVER see any rabbits so maybe your fox & owls came from this area LOL

We only got 5" over here but it's about 4 degrees right now so it's really heavy, but the good thing is it's melting too. I've got a gravel driveway and cleared it a couple hours ago and most of it is bare now. Big Cliff is over on Sturgeon and he said they got 6-8" so you should be somewhere in between.

I keep a couple bird feeders going all winter outside the front window and it's always nice to have a few dozen birds here all the time. Jays, chickadees, cardinals, finches, mourning doves, plus whoever else decides to drop in for dinner.

They were bang on for my area last night, both with the amount of snow and the time it would start and stop. They also said we'd get some sun this afternoon and that's exactly what we have right now. Course it's not very often that happens

Around 5" over my way and the blowers all gassed and ready to go. Didn't start here till 4 AM and was over by 8 but it came down fast.

I always tell my kids they were born one generation too late and they missed the good ole days LOL

Garry, my next door neighbor has a place in Yuma and has been there since last October and just got home last night. I was just talking to him a few minutes ago and think he's in shock right now after seeing all the snow we've still got.

Peterboro radio is calling for 6" of that ugly white stuff tonight.

We have a member on this board that posts as Lake Ranger and she's an amazing artist that specializes in animals. I had her do a 19 x 24 pastel picture of my dog a couple years ago and couldn't believe how nice it turned out. I haven't seen her post here in a long time and don't even know if she's still around or can be contacted, but just thought some of you dog lovers may be interested. Just another nice way to remember your friend.
