  1. And darned proud of it too !!
  2. I hear ya Brian and I'll bet your nan's dumplings were fantastic. I was just referring to the fact that "duff" is navy slang for desert.
  3. We had a similar thread here a few years back and just by coincidence it was a Sunday and my wife had Yorkshires cooking. When they came out I posted a picture and I think everyone here wanted one LOL Your right though Rob, nobody loses when there's GOOD Yorkshires on the menu.
  4. If you were in the Navy Brian, duff would be desert.
  5. Sorry Rob, but my wife makes the absolute best Yorkshires in the entire universe LOL
  6. Lookin good Rob, not much beats a good Prime Rib
  7. Once you include $$$$ it becomes work rather than fun.
  8. Life sure isn't fair sometimes Cliff and I doubt if any of us will ever have an answer as to why. Something that's always pi$$ed me off is good people get sick and often die far before their time, while the likes of Clifford Olsen, Paul Bernardo and Charles Manson live long & healthy.
  9. I figured I was safe Cliff, I'm 100 miles from Joey LOL
  10. Any chance Paul's trying to send you a message Joey ??
  11. Darned nice job there Dave, really nice !!
  12. It's been a few years since we stayed in tents, but when hydro was available I used it too. Cold rainy miserable days it sure was nice to have that little electric heater going to keep everything nice and warm & dry and I'm sure as heck not embarrassed to admit that.
  13. Incase anyone is interested. http://lakefieldherald.com/2015/02_20_2015/icefishing.html
  14. My life seems sooooooo dull not having all these superstitions to worry about before I head out for a day of fishing
  15. Opening day for musky in 2001 I got a musky on the 1st cast and boated 9 in the next 2 1/2 hours. Doesn't always work out that well though.
  16. This mornings news say someone started a fund to pay for the funeral and it's up to $20,000 so far.
  17. No superstitions here, just pick a spot, clip on a bait & start casting. Has always worked well for me anyways.
  18. He's lucky he thawed out so fast vance LOL And FloatnFly, it for sure wasn't a truck suited to Canadian winters.
  19. I was just about to post the exact same thing dave when I saw your post. Nothing better than the sound of a breeze and the waves lapping against the boat. shhhhhhh
  20. Thanks Roy, a sad ending to a sad story.
  21. If you haven't already heard, a 3 year old boy wandered away from his 401/Bathurst area apartment last night and security cameras showed him walking out of the building around 4 AM wearing only a T-shirt. Just heard he was found awhile ago laying outside with no vital signs. Lets hope the doctors can pull one out of the hat for this poor kid.
  22. In the 50's we had a 15' cedar strip with a 25 Johnson Seahorse and were the fastest boat on the lake hahaha
  23. Yup, they use the Toronto Fire Boat
  24. 2 guys in the cab Paul, then 2 jumps seats directly behind and if there were extra guys they hung off the side on the steps. We had another truck just like this one, early 50's LaFrance aerial, and there were full sized oxy-acetelene tanks strapped to the side near the back. Always had a guy hanging on back there and the idea was if the tanks come loose he had to hold onto them....yeah right, while the trucks going down the road at 50-60 MPH. Thankfully things have changed in the past 50 years.
  25. Yeah, they were pretty basic Dan, specially compared to the new trucks, but they were right up to date back in their day.
