  1. After all these years Roger, I'm "that guy" ??
  2. I'd sell them, bass are silly little fish
  3. Hope you got something good for Cross Lake Regan LOL
  4. I was just out on the back deck and it's raining and 1st thing I thought of was this post. Nice mild temps and the 1st rain of the year is always a good sign that winter is on the way out...and that's a good thing
  5. It would appear great minds think alike Raf
  6. Nobodies poking anybody Art, we're having an interesting discussion about health care in Ontario.
  7. I've been working outside around the house the last 4 days wearing shorts & running shoes and that's always a good thing. Also nice having the warm sun coming thru the windows and not needing the furnace.
  8. At least things are better around here now compared to the days when we went into the LCBO, filled out a form for what we wanted, handed it to a guy behind a steel fence and waited for him to bring it out to us. At least now we can wander around the store browsing for different products that we may like to try.
  9. I never could understand why they won't allow booze in the corner stores while they allow beer booze & wine to be sold in some General Stores in the rural areas. Just down the road from me on hwy 28 in Youngs Point there's a little General Store that carries all kinds of booze and it's only 10 minutes north of Lakefield where there's a Beer Store & a Liquor store. When they 1st allowed it alot of folks figured it'd be a target for thieves but as far as I know it's never happened yet. And for something really dumb, there's a little tourist shop in town that has a display of wine produced by an independent maker over in Buckhorn. We were in there 2 years ago and my wife decided to buy a bottle but the owner said "sorry, but that's only coloured water in the bottles for display purposes only" We had to decide what we wanted, then the store owner called the maker 10 miles away who then jumped in his car and delivered it to us. We could pick the wine in the store, order it in the store, then pay for it in the store, but they can't sell it in the store. I love Ontario but we've got some of the dopiest rules anywhere when it comes to the sale of booze.
  10. She's OK with it now Mike, I bought her a snowblower LOL
  11. My back deck is 50' x 14' and is the 1st thing shovelled after every snowfall and the BBQ is used all year long. Nuthin better than looking out the window and watching the Mrs. BBQ T-Bones in a snowstorm.
  12. My wife made a meatloaf for supper today and mixed a large helping of horseradish in with the meat. Outstanding
  13. Love it Steve
  14. Dave, you & your buds deserve every fish you catch.
  15. Just curious here, but living in NWT wouldn't it make more sense to remove your windows in July rather than December ??
  16. You might have a point there Fred LOL
  17. I'm gonna side with Wayne & FLEX ROD on this and also say I think our system is pretty darned good. As I've said several times over the past year my wife has gone through some pretty serious stuff...which is hopefully all behind her now...and so far I haven't taken out my wallet for anything other than lots of hospital coffee and parking. I have no idea what the cost would be for the major surgery, intensive care, many many many tests between Sunnybrook, Oshawa and Peterboro hospitals, cat scans, 3 months of chemo and a multitude of blood tests and so many other things I can't even remember them all now, but I'll bet it's HUGE $$$$ As I mentioned in another post, my wife needed a medication that cost $2100 for only 10 days and because she's over 65 the only cost to us was a $2 dispensing fee. Diane will continue with follow up tests for a few years to come but once again it's all covered by OHIP and won't cost me a cent. As for eye exams, we both go every 2 years for a full complete exam of pretty well everything and the cost to me is a measly $58 and the parking is free LOL I've paid close to $100 each for musky baits and my go to rod & reel combo is around $700, my boat was close to $40,000 and the truck to pull it was darned near $60,000 so $58 to ensure my eyesight is good is unbelievably cheap but I spose we all look at things differently. I imagine there's a few billion people in this world who wish they had it as good as those of us who live in Ontario.
  18. Unfortunately no, the MIL's been gone quite awhile and I can't remember the name but your friends at Dennigers should know what I'm talking about.
  19. Anyone use the creamy horseradish, same texture as mayonnaise ?? My MIL used to buy it and it was far hotter than the stuff you get served at The Keg. Darned stuff would blow the top off a steam engine.
  20. Maybe that's why I never had much luck on Clear LOL
  21. It's funny, but the water is only 200' from my front door but I haven't fished Clear in probably 15 years.
  22. That's old school now Roy, I'm advancing
  23. If anyone is interested Clear Lake just south of Stoney Lake is starting to open up and there's a few spots of soft water visible.
  24. Amazing how we'll struggle thru something that causes so much discomfort but gives so much pleasure
  25. 5 baits is all you need, anything else just wastes space
