Finally figured out how to target sturgeon on The Attawapiskat :)
DanD replied to emjay88's topic in General Discussion
We caught some real nice sized pike, while we were at Eddie's camp. I think I would have crapped my pants, if i latched onto one of those; thinking it was a stubborn pike! LOL Nice fish, well earned bragging rights. Dan. -
I haven't done a lot of research on "Home Exchange"; but it sure sounds interesting. Drive or fly to whatever part of canada and move in for your stay there. You can buy a lot of air time for the money you'd spend getting set up with either the motorhome or a 5th wheel. https://www.homeexchange.com/en/s/Canada/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=%2Bcanadian+house+swap&utm_campaign=HE+USA+-+Location+Specific+%28World+Targeting%29&mkwid=sP9US9aKf%7Cdc&pcrid=53327384994&gclid=Cj0KEQjwuLKtBRDPicmJyvu_qZMBEiQAzlGN5rmvRVjG6bMCFqYe_Inrmakp7sHtrfaITWRl75awT7AaAmdU8P8HAQ&page=2 No doubt there are likely some pitfalls with this program; like I said I haven't done a lot of research on it yet? Dan.

Paint ball gun; you'll be able to track which ones keep coming back. LOL Dan.

You probably could get away with regular indoor/outdoor; as long as it doesn't have a rubber backer and it was a tight weave. Have a look at etrailer, they're running some specials on actual bunk carpeting. http://www.etrailer.com/s.aspx?qry=Trailer+Bunk+Carpeting&furl=-pa-1&ymm=0 http://www.etrailer.com/Boat-Trailer-Parts/Fulton/FCR8012.html I've order quite a bit of stuff from them; they usually ship USP, so there's no brokerage charge to get gooned by. Dan.

A customer of mine swears by these sonic bird deterrents that TSC sells. His property backs onto one of the Pondmills ponds here in London; they couldn't let their grand-kids play in the back yard because of the mess. After two days the birds had moved on and haven't come back? http://www.tscstores.com/SONAR-BIRD-SUPERSONIC-SOLAR-P41433.aspx#.VaUkzxtViko Dan.

I guess we could and make them use an organic fertilizer, which would wash untreated bacteria (Crap) into the water table. Or we could shut the farmers down and buy our fruits and vegetables from countries like India, China, South America, Africa; which all still use DDT as an insecticide? It's a pretty vicious circle. Dan.

You've almost have to find something you like at this place and there's a store in Barrie. http://canada411.yellowpages.ca/bus/Ontario/Barrie/Action-Car-Truck-Accessories/7583079.html?what=Action+Car+and+Truck+Accessories&where=Barrie%2C+ON&useContext=false I enter the info that I had on your truck and got a 115 hits on a search for step. http://actiontrucks.com/lookup.html?supercat=2 Have fun shopping, they have some pretty good looking stuff. Dan.

One gallon pail filled with cement, weights approx 20 lbs. Drop that over the side with a rope twice as long as water depth and you're not going anywhere. A lot of lodges use this; because they're fed up of buying new anchors. Dan.

After the procedure and they say, go home and relax with a bag of ice; for whatever period of time. LISTEN TO THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A buddy of mine didn't and he walked bowlegged for three weeks; before the swelling went down. We've nick named him Mr. Blue B---s. LOL Dan.

Just think, two more and you'll be able to field your own baseball team. Congats. Dan.

Every time that we have an early flight out of TO; we stay the night before at the Carlingview Hotel and have supper at Mr. Geek. Oh man I can't get enough of their "Grilled Chicken & Garlic Shrimp Paros". Mouth's watering now; thanks for making me look at their menu. LOL Dan.

DanD replied to mr blizzard's topic in General Discussion
I think he means that the unit has 2 air flow hoses and does not require a water drain hose? Dan. -

heads up for opiate addicts/users/family/friends NF
DanD replied to manitoubass2's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the heads up. I can understand your sentiment on drug users Fisherman; why or how people get started taking drugs, is the only place where I agree with you thou. Once they get hooked on the high from any type drug, they will take anything to get stoned; it's an addiction that for some; they just can't help themselves. I text my nephew as soon as I read the post; we have tried everything with this kid (he's 40 plus; but still a kid in my mind, that I remember holding when he was a baby) we and professionals cannot get him and keep him strait? So Thanks again for the heads up; I just hope the kid reads and comprehends the text. Dan. -
After reading your first post here; I went googling for pictures of your style of boat. The ones that I've found, sitting still in the water; all looked like they were dragging their ass? If you could post a pic of yours, it might shed some light on the subject? Have a look at this vid; I think it's close to your boat; stop the vid and have a look at the water line stain on the transom. Is that close to where your's would be? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpOnhSZD_f4 Dan.

There's always a bunch of people fishing off the Port Dover pier. There's also Wells bait shop on the corner of Hwy 24 & 6, that'll have minnows. Dover is about 1 1/4 hours from London. Dan.

That says a lot right there; buy what you feel comfortable with. Think of the gadgets your dad's boat doesn't have and you would like. Things like a little more HP, power trim/tilt, proper nav lighting, so you can (legally) stay out after sun down; even something simple as a bilge pump? All the things that will make your day out more enjoyable for you. 5K for boat, motor and trailer, will likely put you into a basic bare bones new boat; 5K used and you'd likely have money left over for some toys? Dan.

It's real nice to here the good and bad of owning one. Thanks everyone for your replies. Dan.

I have no idea; but something like the musky guy (I know he killed the fish) or the people that supposedly ran the moose off a bridge and posted it on the tube, they got a lot of unwanted attention? Just talking about what ifs. Dan.
-
I'd say the more hits the better; maybe it'll get around for an official to see this and track them down? Dan.

Yea there a place not far from me that has weekly and seasonal rentals and I may just do that for a week. Dan.

Thanks for the reply; you've certainly gave me food for thought. How hard is your's to dock, in a heavy wind; are they the sail they look to be? I've been reading about side thrusters and it doesn't look all that hard to build a couple, out of an electric trolling motor? Towing one wouldn't be a problem with the Avalanche I have; I was wondering about trucks passing, out on the hwy; do you get blown around a lot? Dan.

Here's a link to a few charter services around Long point and surrounding area. http://www.longpoint.on.ca/site_sponsors.htm You could also call the locale marinas around Port Stanley, Port Bruce and Port Burwell. They're all apporx a half hour too an hour out of London. Dan.
