Hopefully no side effects like anal leakage if you don't drink the water straight from the creek. Covered by OHIP? Thanks for the video, well done.
-
Get the OSB covered asap, it doesn't like water. You know that already. I see it holding up much better than some ridiculously thin plywood I have seen used.

Slivovitz, dangerous stuff.

Thanks FF, I will keep my eye out for a game. I was the kind of guy that called my relief in early to catch the balance of an afternoon game back in the 80's. I'm getting on board. I used to pick up my wife from work and missed the last extra innings of a big game against Kansas City, I still remember the game. The next day I bought her a brand new car. I swear on my mom and Dad's lives, 88 and 84. That's the kind of a fan I was before most fans here were born, man I'm getting old!!!

In my opinion for the average fisherman there is no reason to spend more than 50 beans for a rod. I have hundreds of $$'s in rods but none of my rods other than the 8' downrigger and trolling rods are worth more than 50 bucks. Maybe a few but who's counting? Every time Ticha asks how much for that one? I reply the same you paid for the last designer purse you bought, $19.99.

Advice on how to deal with water damages in condo?
Old Ironmaker replied to okumasheffield's topic in General Discussion
Insurance, that's why you have it. Let them deal with it. Don't get involved personally. My experience is that you can spend good money and bend over backwards and for some people it isn't enough. They see $$ signs and a windfall. My guys were on a job and an elderly couple asked them to move a fridge and stove. I had to replace all the baseboards in there kitchen because of a small scratch as the 25 year old baseboard profile was no longer available. A set up for sure. We painted it twice because the colour wasn't right. Finally told them to bring it to court and they relented. -
I predict it will happen in Hamilton's new stadium Tim Hortons field. The south stands are at a ridiculous angle. I went on a tour before it opened and said it then. When and where is the next Jay's series?

The OP said he used rhe rod with a broken tip and found no difference, I figured an Ugly Stick has to be better than that.
-
Many things will effect the release or non release. There are many of those releases available Albert. Speed, type of line, dimples on the release, depth of line into release etc. Go to Bill's Bait and look at releases and talk to them.

Great score for a football game. Reincarnacion of Micky Mantle.
-
Repair the tip. Don't use it broken. And get yourself another of your choice. Can't beat a Ugly Stick for all around fishing. You do not need to spend big money for a fairly good rod.

You miss understood me, if I address a cop in Ontario how do I address him or her, officer or constable.
-
Thanks for the answer Constable, is it Constable of Officer here? The games "can be" too long, but extra innings is exciting, life or death.

Honourable mention to several others, I like yours High Drifter. There are a lot with guys holding a Musky. The most popular seems to be the white silhouette like mine. For some reason I can't change my avatar any longer,

AKA Shag, hands down.

Can anyone give me a quick explanation of the Managers Challenge. What happens if he looses it and how many in a game, extra innings as well? Going on 3 hrs and 40 minutes now bottom of the 8th. Too long, I've seen 2 challenges by Gibbons today.

Yep all major sports have it down to a science. Serious pitching and QB clinics for 10 year olds at several thousands a week with the best coaches. Sports psychologists in College ball and even earlier. Pre teens throwing at 90MPH and up. Kids in grade 9 benching 225 for reps. Bone density tests and MRI's for teens in HS. Pre teens signing letters of intent to major NCAA schools before entering grade 9. For all the major sports today. Revere 2 for 2. Tight game. Won't spoil it for the Tevo guys.

I seem to be boarding the Jay's bandwagon. That's 3 games I've watched off and on now, but do watch the wrap ups like Baseball Central. What I have taken notice of Toronto and around the league is the numbers of unbelievable gloves these kids have out there. The athletic plays at second turning doubles for example is just amazing to say the least. Yes there were great fielding way back when but not with the consistency I see today. It looks like I'll tune in this afternoon too for a while.

Canoe with outrigger or aluminium cartopper
Old Ironmaker replied to huzzsaba's topic in General Discussion
It worked Shloim, good for you. Huzzaba with 2 adults and 2 little people I would go with the tinny., not a canoe but I know you camp a lot. A personal choice. Why are you not wanting to trailer a boat? It's like Golf the more you practice the luckier you get, if its portability a 12 foot cart topper. That was my first boat 30 years ago. I'm not a big supporter of a tinny on the Great Lakes, especially with 4 people and 2 being kids. I don't see going too fast in a 12 footer with a 9.9. That's what the throttle control is for. It won't be a problem believe me with the boat full. As far as a seller saying the boat doesn't leak ask them to show you. Take it out on the water, if it's a sea worthy boat they will not have any excuses not to. A simple 2 stroke isn't rocket science to work on. No winterizing, just take it into the basement for the winter. I store my 15 HP kicker in the laundry room all winter, a very understanding woman I have. -
Need advice....French River in October
Old Ironmaker replied to bigcreekdad's topic in General Discussion
Go to You tube and The Canadian Sport Fishing Show. They filmed it on the West Arm out of Maskinonje Lodge the time we were there for my Musky charter. Cold front Bass and they did well. Must be close to the same conditions as the French. -
quick shore fish/mayfly hatch???
Old Ironmaker replied to manitoubass2's topic in General Discussion
I'm so glad the kids look like their Mom. I have to tell you that puppy Ivy is absolutely gorgeous, I don't think I've seen him or her before. as for you getting a gun up there you are going to need more than 1 when the boys come a knockin' at your door looking for one of the girls. It won't be long Rick, probably already started. Football season is a few weeks away, PM me with your predictions for the season. Watch out for the Bills, that is if they get someone to hit the broad side of a barn with a football. Maybe start an NFL thread this year? Has to be more than 2 NFL followers here. -
I told you this would have been a reality TV hit. Now you can show us the 2 dozen workers you have hiding in the bush. Holmes has that many minimum on any build, more sometimes. Amazing simply amazing. I'm building a small shed and that will take me a week more to finish with help. You could build it at lunch break.

That was surprising. The Yeti is even smaller than the Coleman I think. It's like a 700 buck Taylor Made or Nike driver being better than one for 300. The most expensive has to be better and consumers will believe that. I choose the Coleman.

Some local Yellowknife fishin' news!!!
Old Ironmaker replied to DRIFTER_016's topic in General Discussion
Very interesting. The comments section on that article lead me to a picture of the exact coloured Pike in 2010. Ah paste not working again. Scroll down the comments page and you will find it close to the end of the article. -

Old Ironmaker replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
Unrelated comment deleted. Happy? Man it's getting tough around here. Sorry all and you personally Chris for contributing to hi jack of the thread. I hope you get your boat back. You have been robbed a few times now if I remember.
