I get that quality costs money and they perform for specific fishing. I used a centre pin reel on a proper 12 foot rod a few years back and it was like comparing a Ferrari to my Silverado.

You have that right Weeds other than the all show and no go Dodge thing. When my truck was brand new I didn't want to put a 2X4 in it, might scratch the bed liner. If we didn't live where we have brutal lake effect snow storms and I didn't have a 20 foot boat to pull I would be in a 40 MPG Fiat 500. When we do move back to decivilization and when I eventually give away or sell my wife's boat we are getting Vespa's that get something like .5 litters per 100K .

Around 15 years ago a pal was travelling back from Pittsburg on the US side and called me here at the cottage on Erie. He asked if I could see the Northern Lights, this was in the middle of the afternoon in the summer, yea right Bud you must be bored. Sure enough they were over the lake. I told my neighbour who told her neighbour and before you knew it there we are all staring at the sky. Lasted for only 20 minutes I believe. Only the second time I have seen them and never knew you can see them during daylight hours. They are the definition of Wonderful.

My sis in law lives in a suburb of West Palm Beach, she won't evacuate because of her pet birds and it has my wife wrought with worry. That Hurricane Irma and the one right behind her is real news. Irma is the size of Texas. When I read something on the net I have to confirm it with second and third sources unfortunately, and not Fox.

I just Googled that rod, a lot of cake is right, 500 Bananas, not sure if USD. Wowza. For a few more peso's I can buy new Pings, and will get 7 of them or something I can actually use. For $500.00 I can get about 10 rods or more, I'm not into spending big bux for rods, reels a bit more but not much more. I usually get all my "new" stuff at the Tackle Swap in Hamilton every March, and I don't need any of the stuff I buy. I don't know if true or not but I was told the biggest depreciation is on fishing tackle. Real news or fake news?

I had a tag stuck to my wind screen saying I get free top ups of N2 from any GM dealer. I went into my (former) GM dealer because I got a low tire warning on my Silverado and they laughed at me. No N2 on site. I never went back to them again for my service. So far it's cost them about 500 bucks for the giggles. At our elevation 21% O2 and balance is hot air from a GM dealer.

Again, thank you all. There will be a celebration of life at his place this Sunday. Nothing in the Hamilton Spec. or our local weekly rag. Strange to say the least. Stouter was single and I am not sure he had close family. Man we are going to miss him badly. This no way is a political thread, a warning to those traveling through or around Caledonia. I just talked to my wife and traffic is at a standstill on Argyl St. many miles long from Caledonia to Hamilton. A group had Argyle St. blocked by a Hydro tower for the last few weeks as a protest over issues concerning a property miles away in Brantford. They took the blockage away there and have blocked the Caledonia bypass to Port Dover today. Now they are attempting to close Argyle St as well. Avoid Caledonia at all costs. Enuff said before I get booted out. PM me if you wish so I can vent. My wife worked the holiday today and now she can't get home..... My head is about to explode. That's it we're moving before next spring. Anyone want to buy a little place on the lake? I had to get 20 bucks of gas to get me to the Rez today at a small variety store in town. Only had premium, $1.49 a liter, what an idiot I am. Rez is $1.15. Anyone want to buy a nice 4X4?
