Congrats on your PB. Time spent on the water will get you that 50 incher. I know, I just got mine 3 weeks ago.
-
That's fine. Make sure they are charged and you should be fine.

Call BRPs head office and speak to someone in customer service. If you get no satisfaction, ask to speak to a supervisor and if you still get the runaround, let them know that you will be contacting the better business bureau, a lawyer and that you will be flaming them on various fishing websites. Fight dirty if need be.

Congrats on the ski and even more so with the revive/release.

Good for you with regards to the interview, good luck with it. As for the fishing, a bath in tomato juice might help with that SKUNK smell. Remember, its called fishing, not catching.

I just winterized and tarped my Larson on the weekend. I used 2x6 posts with notches with a 16' 2x6 going across the boat. All screwed together and a 28x20 tarp tied down to the trailer and she's done for the winter. Make sure you have the bow up a bit with the engine all the way down and the plug out. Any water that does make it's way in there will be able to run out. Can't wait for May to come so I can head up and pick up my boat and summerize her.

Any antifreeze you pump into the motor will just end up draining away. Don't bother. Just throw some stabil or whatever stabilizer you choose into the fuel and run it for a few minutes, fog it, change the lower unit oil and your done.
-
For winter, either red or blue Stabil. Whichever is cheaper. As long as you run something in the tank you'll feel better. Basically you are preventing the fuel from turning to varnish which makes a mess of carbs, fuel filters, etc... I would not use Seafoam as a stabilizer, I've read up and the guys on Iboats.com who have been around the block are pretty adamant about not using it for that purpose.

After speaking to the OPP officers out on GBay, they have had problems with their automatic pfd's going off in the boat lockers overnight. There is a tablet that dissolves that triggers the inflation mechanism. If left in a very damp place, the tablet starts to dissolve and over time will end up going off. That's why I got a manual model and it doesn't bother me in the least bit and I wear it when I fish alone or when I'm out cruising with the family.

She'll boogie with that!!

Start tossing some big baits his way or lead him to a nice shoal to ground on. He will have no one to blame but himself. What a jerk. At least stay casting distance away, bare minimum.

Great Pic!!! That's a Redneck!!! Love it!!

You go up to Northern Ontario and west of our province and you will find that most firearm owners DID NOT REGISTER all of their firearms. It was a huge boondoggle that cost us over $1billion, I believe the original number we were given was $11million. Just a bit of a difference. Like E-Health. I'm no redneck but long guns here esp. in the north are very common and useful tools for feeding your family. Handguns are a different story, other than some .22s used for target shooting, most handguns out there are designed with one thing in mind, KILLING PEOPLE. Handguns are strictly controlled, there are quite a few hoops involved with getting an RPAL as there should be. The licensing system does what it is supposed to, have some control over who gets legal access to firearms and ammunition, though up north, they don't tend to ask for your PAL when you go to a nameless big box store to buy a brick of .22 for plinking. Police like the control factor in knowing who exactly is a legal gun owner. I can understand to an extent that they love the registry esp. when serving a warrant or going into a domestic dispute. Unfortunately, Police abuse their powers when they get them, ie G20, what a friggin' mess. It is a slippery slope when giving police a lot of power, they get too much, you can end up with a Police State that is paranoid and everyone gets their papers checked multiple times per day. I have an aunt who lives in Russia (long story), she could not believe that when she was here that the police left you alone (in the mid '80s before the end of the Cold War). This is why we have a system that has a few checks and balances. The Long Gun registry was created as a knee jerk reaction to the killings in Montreal and other occurences elsewhere. It did absolutely nothing but trample on innocent people's civil rights. How many criminals out there did the right thing and went to register their illegally obtained weapons???? I'd love to see that number. We talk a lot here about the US and the amount of weaponry there is available down there, we have to realize that The Right To Bear Arms is yet another check and balance for the government. The USA was born out of revolution and it recognizes that the government could be overthrown at any time by the citizenry. I can rant on for days on this issue, thankfully stick a fork in the registry, it is just about done.

The electronic things do work, I have one in my garage and I haven't had a problem with mice since I got it. I've found that Irish Spring and Bounce sheets don't work, they only make the place smell nicer. The best thing is a bunch of mouse traps and glue traps. If you get your boat shrink wrapped then you should be fine.
-
You will be fine. I would clean and lube the reels now so all they will need for next year is fresh line. Check the guides in your rods for chips and cracks replace as necessary.

Jig n minnow?? 20-30ft of water, that's the winning combo for northern lakes this time of year. Good to see you had fun even though your motor died and you had lousy weather for a couple of days.
-
Bill, nice Lund!! Enjoy your boats fellas. I hope they get covered in slime.

Just double check to see what standard your Suzuki calls for. It will be a combination of letters and/or numbers ie. GL-5 which my Volvo Penta outdrive calls for.

New Addition to my Family - it's a girl! :)

Cutiepie!! Just think, in 2 and a half years, you will have another fishing partner, you get to bait hooks and unhook fish while she giggles and has a blast fishing with dear old dad. -
I don't understand people. If something doesn't interest you whether it's fishing related or not related, read another post or check out another site. Don't sit and gripe about something you didn't find interesting enough for you.

Back up to Lake of The Woods. I haven't even scratched the surface there.

Nice pile of perch. I'm gettin' hungry for some fish'n chips.

That's the big thing everyone tends to forget, KEEP YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL!!! Yes a big truck is a pig on fuel, BUT, they aren't too bad if you are easy on the throttle. Kinda like guys complaining how their boat burns lots of fuel, same guys running around at full throttle all day, what do you expect?? BIGGER VEHICLE = HIGHER FUEL CONSUMPTION
