  1. Good morning to you ch312! It's a glorious day and it's Friday! I hope you had a comfortable night's sleep.
  2. Just throwing this out there for answers or opinions. Why do some reels have what seems to me as such large line capacities? I know that you can use cheaper backings etc... but why would you ever need almost 1,000' of line on a reel? You'd think that freshwater reels would never need more than 300'- 400' maximum. I'm interested in what your opinions are. Thanks.

  8. I have a few of Spiel's creations. I don't have any of those luxury reel seats. Main reason being that I use Downeasters. Got some pretty fancy thread work though. Every one of his rods are go to rods for me though.

  11. Keep them full...I have 4 twenty pounders here and they're always full. I keep one on the Napoleon and 3 in the shed. Never run out.

  16. Instead of paying the big price for the polymer mount, get yourself a kitchen cutting board and cut out the size and shape you need. It's the same stuff. cheaper and with some luck you can probably find it in a colour that matches your boat.
