  1. Personal messaging is going well. Make sure that you click "send" when you want to talk to someone.

    Question?

Paul, shouldn't you be out looking for a tuxedo?
  4. What kind of baits (brand) are they Rob? You can apply water based paints to oil based but not the other way around. The best thing to do is to strip them, re-seal them, then if you're not going to be using an airbrush, buy the colours you need in rattle cans. Some guys get really good at that. Anything goes...you can use netting for scales, you can foil coat them...it's a lot of fun when you get into it. Once they're painted to your satisfaction, finish them off with a clearcoat. Lots of brands out there. I'm presently using a product called "Vitra-Laque". It's a 2 part mix and dries to a glass finish. Give me a shout if you need a few answers.
  5. I don't think it matters how much it weighed...it's a nice fish and congrats to your Bud.
  6. Sorry to hear that....talk to Spiel, he'll "hiell" your broken rod problems.
  7. Hell Terry, you have the 25C? That's the one I have too. Great unit..I bought it when it was a year old. I don't suppose you can communicate with the HDS with it?
  8. Very true, Lew. I have a 7.5" screen and even at that I prefer to go from one full screen to the other. When running faster, I'll often stay on full GPS screen and leave a small depth, temp, speed etc... window up. On lesser known waters, the split screen is the way to go for me anyway.
  9. As much as I love my Lowrance products, I've learned over the years that being a pioneer can be an expensive hobby. I kind of prefer to have other (wealthier than I) folks try them out first.

Wow, that was close. I was eying my dresser .....thought maybe I should sort my socks drawer.
  12. Sorry for the inconvenience folks....server problems, did the best we could. Let's hope all goes well now. Thanks for your patience.
  13. It must end tonight...I don't see it in the new flyer.

    New Reel

Dang Joe, you gotta invite me over the next time you renew your hydro contract. I'll bring my camera.
  15. Maybe you can come here instead....we can crack open a beer and bid each other a Shana Tova.
  16. River Rippers Fishing Lures.
  17. Oh they're armed alright. Deadly at close range.
  18. David, the launch date on this one was September 1, 2010.
  19. Certainly not good weather for you guys but you got out with your buds and had a good time. Now, here's my opinion on the help you attempted to provide for the ailing muskie. But Ryan, I guess you know about opinions eh? There's a common misconception in the fishing community that livewells have some sort of therapeutic value for fish....a source of rejuvenation even. As far as I'm concerned, livewells are useful for keeping baitfish alive and for transporting a tournament fish or three to a weigh-in station provided the bait and tournament fish are in good shape to begin with. Other than that, they're useless. This is hindsight mind you and I wasn't in the heat of the action but the best thing you could have done for that fish would have been to leave it in it's own water and hold it in the water in an upright position. Don't move it back and forth, just hold it there. Again, that's just my opinion Ryan and under the circumstance I may well have done the same thing you guys did. Good on you for trying to save the muskie. I hope you have better weather the next time.
  20. And if you want another tip, Don't put your colours directly on the lead. If you coat the lead in white first, your colours will really come out well. Also, please don't do this in the basement, outside or in the garage or shed with doors/windows open.
  21. Yes, that's the kind. You can also shoot the stuff on. The paints are sold at Luremaking.com. They do sell a smelting unit too but have run out of stock and are waiting for the new model.
  22. Powder paints are the only way to go with jig heads. They're very easy to use and the toughness of the finish is hard to beat.
  23. Yeah, strange stuff... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46792
  24. Actually, it's called a "thread". As for the sappy part, only you would know. I hope that none of this is making you feel too guilty.
  25. A very good thread and great pics of very nice fish, thank you for sharing. People will not catch more fish by looking at the moon data on weather channels. Things like full moon, new moon etc will not help. If you're really interested in how it all comes together, get yourself a book by John Aldon Knight...one of them is called "Moon Up, Moon Down". Moon phases are just a part of many things coming together to form a pattern. It works.
