  1. I understand, Mike. I respect you as a fisherman and all around good guy. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I just gave mine is all. You gave your opinion and that's cool...I gave mine and that should be cool too. We have a member who has booked there for November with some friends let's let him make up his own mind. Crap might have happened a few years ago...let it go. No one has said anything about what Kevin has done to rectify any problems that might have occured in the past. It's kind of like a gang mentality. I'm sorry you had a bad time there. Maybe I'm just not as fussy as you are. Lord willing, I'll make it out there again in the late fall this year. I'll be there for the fishing and comraderie. It's a good place for everyone to get together in the same spot. EDIT: And I don't know the Lavers at all. Would not recognize them on the street.
  2. You'll be fine there. You've got to understand that the mood of a thread is set at the very start of it. People like jumping on someone who's down...it's almost as though they've never made a mistake themselves. I've never had problems at Merland but then... I've never needed an owner of a camp to kiss my butt because I had given them a few bucks for the use of a cottage. When we go there, it's November. It's a sure thing that you'll have frost/ice on the docks. All the tough guys who rant about their expertise in the bush who are complaining here should probably sleep at a Holiday Inn and get a taxi to bring them to their boat in the mornings. I have a little more to say but I'll leave it at that. Fish_Fishburn, have a great time there, catch lots and send us a report when you're back.
  3. Are you sure that a scroll saw is what you want? I would have thought that a band saw was what you'd need for the thicknesses you'd be cutting.
  4. Have you asked Kevin how the fishing has been lately?
  5. Be careful Terry, Jose is working the Saturday & Sunday day shifts in October this year.
  6. Yes, you don't need many baits. Without sounding like a stick in the mud, You should get yourself a proper net and release tools for muskie prior to going out. If you don't have a heavy enough rod, reel, line and leader, there's good chance you'll be killing your first muskie. I know that this sounds really negative to someone who's starting out and I certainly don't want to be discouraging you but it is something to at least consider. Good luck to you and give us a report of how you make out.
  7. Emil, I'm quite certain that the floor panels are screwed in place. I had trouble locating a few of mine (Princecraft) as well but I used a magnet and found them a lot more easily.
  8. He said he used Vue d'esprit and Bryce. Very nice Paul.
  9. What Garry said was that "Shimano's A-RB bearings are as good as stainless steel reel bearings get." Sure you can also get Abec5 or 7 ceramic bearings but they will also double the price of your reel.
  10. I paid $50 for my 50amp breaker....$53 actually.
  11. What I wanna know is why Rob Moulton holds down two spots.....101 & 102.

  13. The others have it right. If you absolutely need a livewell, use the appropriate sized cooler. IMHO, unless you're doing live release tournaments, a livewell is useless. If you're a C&R guy you don't need a livewell. If you want to keep a fish or three for dinner, you're best to dispatch the fish and put it on ice. I have a 42" livewell on my boat and it is now a storage compartment for tackle. If I need to have minnows aboard for any length of time, I use a cooler with a $35 aerator kit. But that's just me....
  14. That's the model I have. I've only had it for 2-3 years but I use it a lot and it works very well.
  15. I can still picture the red blanket.
  16. That makes a lot of sense and I tend to agree with that. A word of warning to other members though, for those of you who like to collect tackle and enjoy buying fishing toys, do NOT let your significant others read this post.
  17. Aaron, you deserve a big win...you've worked hard enough at it. Thanks for the report and the porn. Giv'er hell at the fish off.
  18. August 30th, I knew that.....was just waiting for him to get home from work. Have a super evening Paul. Thank your girlfriend cause it's the last year you can do that. Be well, Bud.

  22. Sure Paul, ask her if I can be a member.
  23. Beautiful! Glad you had a great time and thanks for sharing.
  24. 25. Shimano25, I would appreciate it if you stopped trolling our community. If you want to discuss it, PM me. Also, if you ALWAYS get your line caught in the clip thingie, you might want to consider not buying, opening the package and trying the reel for the first time.
