  1. Except for a few sheltered bays, the St Lawrence is wide open.
  2. What you have on Nipissing is the longnose gar.
  3. Yeah, another good one Rob. An Alligatoridae and a lepisosteus.
  4. The problem is the esox and lepisosteus are two completely different species. It's either a pike or a gar, not both.
  5. There's no such thing.
  6. For gar or pike?
  7. HA! Nah, I think it's because I absolutely refuse to let anyone dictate how I will feel for the rest of the day. That's the ultimate put down.
  8. Looking forward to it, Drew.
  9. It's terrible line. Don't buy it unless you're using it as backing or you can buy one spool of the 14# tough, to make walleye spinners. It's all it's good for.
  10. Here you go. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/dmKzczP5oHc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  11. Thinking back, I don't remember ever having been made to feel like I was intruding in any store. Lucky I guess.
  12. My thoughts also.
  13. Don't worry about it. You can still be in the report because it didn't happen until later today.
  14. Check out his thread a third of the way down this page.
  15. Beauty fish there Chris. Congrats to you both!
  16. And placing them on a piece of wood doesn't help anything either. On the concrete floor will do just fine.
  17. Don't get sidetracked by technicalities. If you have a meter, tell us the voltage readings on both the Interstate and Nautilus are. Then tell us what the liquid levels are in both batteries.
  18. Wow! Are you sure you have enough line on that thing? It's a good reel.
  19. Dax has the right question. Can't help much without knowing that.
  20. I remember the first rod Spiel made for me. It took me a while to match a reel to it. I really didn't think any reel was worthy and that's a fact. It finally came down to a Calcutta 700 and it's just a perfect muskie trolling combo. Now my planning is a little better so the rods he's crafted since, already had a reel waiting for them. I'll be asking Spiel in the next week or so for another.
  21. Almost every species feed on the eggs and young of other species, including their own.
  22. Yes, twice a year like clockwork. And Lew is right, it's a great time to change all of the batteries in the battery powered detectors. I've gotten into the habit of changing them twice a year, every time change. Test each detector afterwards. We're looking at a 16 for Thursday here.
  23. Tonight everyone is having supper with their family. That's a relief. It is interesting to read how people react to catastrophes and near catastrophes though.
  24. Good job Simon. In Southern Ontario, unless you're 7.5' tall, an auger extension is pretty useless. You're all set for next year too!
  25. The heaviest dude gets unwanted company every night.
