  1. I am also looking at generating an income from my stocks in retirement. I have all the blue chip stocks which are paying a 4 - 6% dividend ( banks, communications, railways, reits etc). My question comes from the old saying buy low and sell high. My stocks are at all time highs and is it a good time to sell? The problem is I have not been through the ups and downs in the market as I was 100% GICS until interest rates hit an all time low. From what I see suggest is I need to get used to riding out the lows as well as invest in them. I also know its all about your risk level and what lets you sleep at night.
  2. I just changed my bell package a month ago and got rid of the WFN. Same reason found it boring and mostly repeats.
  3. Thanks for all the advice in his thread. Has anyone sold their stocks they purchased in 2008? I am looking at unloading them however what do you invest in if you sell your stocks GIC's at 2.5%? I will retire in 5 years and I am fortunate to have a full DB pension.
  4. I have had the Trifecta tri fold on my truck for 6 years. No issues and easy to stow or fold up if you need to.
  5. It's the local college or university ( i forget which one). They have been completing studies for a few weeks. I stayed at Beachwood a couple of weeks ago and they were staying at the resort as well. They have found some big bass in the lake.
  6. There is a place across from Mitchel's Bay Marine unfortunately I forget the name of it. The rooms are cheap and the place is clean
  7. Does anyone know how to mount 360 imaging from Hummingbird on a Terrova electric motor? It appears the bracket is designed to fit the cable style electric motors not the wired motors units. I am looking at purchasing 360 imaging for the front of my boat but I don't want to have to take it off and remount every time I stow and deploy the electric motor.
  8. A vet once told me to use a squirt gun filled with water. This will stop the dog while not injuring him and prevent you from possibly being charged as well. Also report the incident every time it happens. The police may respond as well if you keep reporting the incident to them.
  9. I picked one up In Cambridge around 4 pm today. The clerk they don't match sales prices online as well. I asked her to check with the manager and he gave it to me the $25. They had one more on the shelf. Thanks for letting us know about the deal.
  10. I live in the KW area as well. great area to live except for water unless you like big water like Erie. I go to the Kawartha lakes as the drive is better if you take the 407. You also don't have to worry about weather as much with small lakes like Lower Buckhorn or Sturgeon.
  11. I did get an inflatable one for xmas last year. I always wear it now when moving now if it is cold and/or I am fishing alone. I have another life jacket in the boat so I can remove it when fishing near other boats or with some one. Last year in the wind I was almost knock out of the boat fishing in the early spring in rough water. It would have been a tough swim to catch up to the boat and get back in with the 3ft waves. I was wet before I regained my balance.
  12. I am on Balsam this week and it is 66 degrees. I was skunked as well today. Hope some one is catching them
  13. I was on Balsam for the weekend. On Saturday the fishing was great for numbers but small. On Sunday after the storm the lake was dead
  14. Lots of pike in Balsam if thats your question
  15. I still have a couple of rods with super slick however all new line is the old PP.
  16. Thanks for the info. I didn't think open was the correct way
  17. When towing a boat with a full windshield do you leave the middle open or closed? I have seen them towed both ways and is there an advantage to one way or the other?
  18. Thanks Lew. I will look for them when I am around the falls. I didn't know they were in the area
  19. Nice eagle pics Lew. What areas will you see them
  20. Mitchell or Canal lake would be good. Deer Bay on Lower Buckhorn is sheltered as long as you keep to the wind side and offers good fishing opportunities as well
  21. I have a Stratos 486. Along the lines of the Ranger Reata but cheaper. Its a great boat for fishing and playing. Has seating for 7.
  22. Big Cliff Can you tell me how Bell discovered all your receivers did not exist at the same address? I have been doing the same thing for a few years and never been questioned. I also never plug them into my phone line unless all receivers are home.
  23. if your looking for a closer location you could try Balsam Lake has good numbers of both pike and walleye
