  1. I am in a park on Balsam lake. You can deck your site up to a 12 foot wide deck and have an 8' x 8' shed on your site. The park has a boat launch and docks for rent in a protected lagoon which means you don't have to worry about the weather if you leave your boat in the water when you are not there. You can purchase a used your trailer or a new one from the park. You may want to look at the cottager units. They have a lot more room in them and depending on the model you choose they are not a lot of extra cash. The advantage of being on the chain is you can lock to the other lakes without trailering your boat. From Balsam you can go to Canal and Mitchell with out having to travel through locks. I would not want to be on a land locked lake. We like to go for boat rides. The park is Sandy Beach Resort
  2. I fished Balsam on the weekend and did not catch a fish with eggs in it. The fishing was on and off all weekend I caught about 20 in 3 days.
  3. I just logged on because I realized I posted the wrong size it's a1800W or a 1.8KW generator.
  4. its the size of a briefcase made by coleman. 15"L x 12" D x 18"H and it weighs about 75lbs. It also is very quiet .
  5. I have the same issue. There is no power where my dock is and I bought but have used yet a 40W solar charger. I also have a small 1800kw generator. From what I am reading I should take back the solar panel and just use the generator to charge my batteries. Is this correct?
  6. What happened to Darryl Choronzey and his tv show?
  7. I never have the net ready. It is stored in the bottom of the boat. I usually lose the first fish of the day trying to get the net out

  11. I use the one that heats up like a soldering gun.
  12. What do you use to cut braided line? I have been using the berkley line cutter but find it does not last very long and would like to find a different tool to use.
  13. good to see some one was catching them. Fished balsam Saturday and got 4 eyes for the day
  14. Does you switch have an overload device in it? It sounds like the O/l is tripping. It is reset by turning the switch on and off which would look like a regular light switch. If you take the cover plate off you should see a circular element between 2 of of the screws at each end of the switch. Always shut the power off before taking the cover off unless you know what your looking at. If you have a voltmeter you could test from the ground for voltage on each side of the switch on the wires. If you have voltage on both sides check the pressure switch next. But only do this if you know what your looking at
  15. BP credited me my gas and 407 cost on a new trolling motor because I was quoted on something which was not correct on the phone. There was no fuss the sales person realized their mistake and called the manager who offered me the discount. They did this all on their own. I didn't even ask.
  16. Balsam lake is full of Pike now. The walleye population is good as well.
  17. Sandy Beach Resort on Balsam lake has trailer sites and your boat is docked behind the site. It also has a boat launch.
  18. You can also try Lower Buckhorn as well. I am in one of the campgrounds on Balsam lake and never had an issue or heard of any issues there but it is not the provincial park.
