  1. Spiel, Brian just gave me an idea! that bacon wrap looked so good My next rod, make it a bacon wrap handle and guides. Darn Homers are talented.
  2. Timing belt slipped or gone, motor toast. Hope thats not your case. I though about a Etech, have 3 buds that have blown theirs. glad I had second thoughts. 4 strokes have their problems to I guess, got to keep them maintained.
  3. And don't forget, Sheephead deserve Respect.
  4. Good question Wayne, I don't know about the paint being scratched, my Princecraft and Lund have no painted bottoms. As per launching, DO NOT!!! unhook boat till you're near the water or at least transom touching the water . I love it for power loading when you're by yourself , I can put it to the winch . I have noticed my lund will move a little sideways if I turn a sharp corner, my Princraft had keels like Pikeslayers boat above, didn't move at all. Once you get the hang of it, it's great. Roller trailers have plastic rollers, guys have been load glass and tin boats for years. Why the Buck Board, it's 1/2 " so you can countersink the bolts, I use flat head beveled bolts with a locking nut, all Stainless. My Princecraft trailer had 2X6 boards and my Lund has 2X4, Maybe because Lund bottoms are better Pikeslayer has a good idea if you're worried about movement.
  5. Bag of heavy elastic's from Staples. Come August we bundle a 1000 rods and reels for the Harbor Kids Fishing Derby 10 rods per bundle.
  6. Carpet is old school, this is the way to go now, boat doesn't freeze on the trailer, wood doesn't rot as quick, and boat launches and loads easier. Wish I had found this guy years ago. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-boat-parts-trailer-accessories/hamilton/boat-trailer-bunk-glides-made-in-ontario-20-foot-package/597028382?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
  7. No more carpet for me. Carpet holds the water.
  8. Might be better Johnny to use Lexon, better stuff, a lot stronger.
  9. I have tried jigging out there before bro but I couldn't stay on one spot because of currant and wind. I think the ipilot is a must or a real long anchor rope. I'll post some results if I get a calm day to be able to jig again, Steve made it look easy, the man was catching steady, his #'s would blow you away.
  10. I wish I could say something here but I'd be banned. I think Cliff is right on here. I better get away from this key board
  11. I can't wait till this wind stops to get out there again. As SCL says, lots of rope for sure. Or an ipilot.
  12. I was out today trolling for them catching a few and ran into Steve Jigging. I stopped to join him, what a blast. Gotta get myself a ipilot. Thanks for the jiggs Steve. My biggest today was 36" After got rough and couldn't stay on the spot so went back trolling and picked up 1 King about 15 Lbs. Hope to get out there again. Man when they hit it's like your on bottom.
  13. Thanks for the heads up. Just to get them deactivated would be good till there is a replacement. You would think all news channels would procast this. Makes me think about those 2 kids that got killed on the Red Hill Creek Expressway last week???
  14. Thanks for the kind words guys, I was only 1 spoke in the wheel that helped, some of the guys that volunteer have been doing this for years, a great bunch of guys. Wish I had helped years ago. Denny Leeson started it at Inch Park years ago. He past last year, he was a great man and will be sadly missed. I had the pleasure of working with Denny at Stelco when I started then after his son Bruce, we worked in the same department. As one gets a little older I feel I should give a little back to a sport that I've enjoyed. All the kids and adults we help this week were mentally challenged & Down syndrome. Boy, do they ever get excited when they catch a fish.
  15. It's a wonder such tiny fingers could pick a tune like that.
  16. Thanks you guys, it's just something WE us guys enjoy to make others not so fortunate. Being retired, it gets one doing something in the community that we enjoy about fishing, not just about catching. I love seeing these kids so happy, you have to be there to understand. I don't like to admit, but some times it brings a tear to my eye. At 66, you still can tear.
  17. Thanks Chris, now my face is the same color as my shirt. Yes, it does the heart good to see the smiles on the kids faces. Those kids will be us some day. Funny to say, but all the kids there never had a cel.
  18. R&R Canvas Tarps, Boat Covers, Custom Sewing. Dunnville Call Reg at 905 774 6774
  19. Nice place, but leave your riggers at home, you can only keep 2 Walleye the size of Perch. Worm harness and jigs are all you need and don't forget a flat of worms.
  20. As mentioned, it was a great turn out, better than any sports fishing show. I met so many people there that I didn't get to see much. I think thats why I go, just to shoot the crap, where can you go and meet so many fishing buddy's in one place. I got there a half hour early and the line up was almost out the door. Didn't get to talk much to John, nice seeing you Johnny, as you said, met lot's of OFC members. Saw Bruce at his booth, and bought some of his lucky jigs, HTHM Albert had to show me his great deal of a reel. Talked to Kelvin, had a big tackle bag he bought, talked about how many refreshments would fit in it plus we should have taken our boats were selling to the swap, parked them outside with a for sale sign. Met (Spiel) Chris and Julie walking around, I couldn't believe he didn't buy one rod he bought a big bag of spoons, but all the wrong color, I didn't want to say . Sorry Christopher K, I didn't see you. As I left, people were still coming in. I have to say a BIG THANK YOU to the Hamilton Bass Masters for putting on such a great Swap! Show! Fishing! Meeting. I had a great day.
  21. Was a very good meeting, I was surprised at the attendance, I thought there would have been more people. Just seems the young don't care anymore, most people in the room were old anglers. I thank Andy Todd and the other speakers for your work. Please fill out the stocking plan form, It's for us.
  22. Thanks guys and to think us fools will be back doing the same thing this year. Man, it be nice to have a meet and greet at the festival. we could fill the Hywayman Motel with the OFC. Make sure to bring a spare Prop
  23. Never missed it, most of us have caught a few tags each Plus my buddy won the Grand prize a few years ago. What away to spend the beginning of the fishing year. Our group fishes it 8 to 9 days of the derby and we come from the Hammer. Have lots of stories, but what happens in Orillia, stays in Orillia Just a few pictures out of hundreds And after a hard days battling ice and fish.
