  1. Sir: you need help ASAP.....have you ever seeked or considered consulling....
  2. Franks, Wieners or Hot Dogs all the same but none can hold a candle to the BEST BUFFALO has to offer.......Sahlen's Hot Dogs....once you have this hot dog all the rest are just dogs. MANY folks that move away from here have friends and relatives send them to Sahlen's for the summer.
  3. Where do you find 72 degree water temperatures around any walleyes or pickerels right now ?
  4. Wow, didn't know you can't get Bush Beans in Canada....a staple here in my house....GREAT with a fish fry....Sam's Club carries Bush Beans but only the original kind where Walmart or Tops or Wegman's has the several other flavors that Bush makes....my favorite is the Country Style.......one last thing.....get yourself some FRANK'S Hot Sauce to spice the beans up....this is the same hot sauce that has made the Famous Buffalo Chicken Wings to what they are today...
  5. I would stay away from Rice Lake....rumor has it you will ONLY be allowed 300 fish to keep compared to like 4 walleyes elsewhere...
  6. Yes, BPS is out of "my" way so that is the BIGGEST reason I don't go there. But I do when I head east to my son's house......other than that, I do ORDER A LOT from CABELA'S online and I really don't know where you think I pay more for a cheaper product....is the same Daiwa reel better from your Mom & Pop bait and tackle than from BPS or Cabela's ? ? ?
  7. I haven't cleaned a lot of bluegills but when we had no limit on our crappies and Chautauqua Lake was in it's prime I could fillet 70 per hour with just a 4" fillet knife. But I believe they are the easiest fish to fillet....now perch are real hard on a fillet knife as their skin and scales are tough and dull my knife quite fast so that slows down the process.......here what my knife looked like when the crappie fishing wasn't crappy.
  8. I hate to tell you but the Local "Joe's Bait and Tackle Shop" also get's it inventory from China....can't get away from that.
  9. Although this may be true with Bass Pro it's the COMPLETE opposite with Cabela's...I will look for their name on many products I have bought like their wader, hiking shoes, on-board battery charger, 4 in 1 hunting parka, bib overalls, the list goes on and on. They have stood behind these products when I did have a problem....like the battery charger that was 4.5 years old and 2.5 years out of warranty.....it stopped working so I called them to find out who made it so I could contact the company and see if there was anything I could do about it myself....they said "That has our name on it" send it back to us so we can evaluated it.....I spent $14 sending it back and they sent me the new updated one for FREE (my favorite 4 letter word) that cost $139......now would ANY LOCAL dealer do that for you ? ? ? BTW MOST of our local sporting shops here have pulled stakes and we don't have a Bass Pro Shop or a Cabela's here.....we do have a Expensive Mountain but it doesn't draw dick......the place is EMPTY every time I go there. Bob
  10. Not sure what you like about Expensive Mountain.......errrrr Gander Mountain....I went there today to kill time until the ice melts.....it didn't work.....but anyway this store is a JOKE....they don't even have ONE CASH REGISTER open....you have to go to the customer service desk to cash out and it's been like that EVERY time I go there...not many employees working there.....it's just a matter of time until this place closes for good...sooner than later if BPS ever builds the store in downtown Buffalo like they have promised for over 5 years. But for the first time in over 3 years I did buy something there........2 packages of tinsel jig for crappie fishing...cost 4 jigs $6.50. Bob
  11. Never see it at any of the BPS stores I been to but Cabela's has a restaurant in it at the Hamburg, PA store.....nice, they serve venison brats, elk burgers and buffalo burgers.....they also have a deli that will make you all kinds of sandwich's on all different kinds of breads, rolls or wraps...we had the buffalo burger and venison brat while we were there and had a smoked ostrich sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo on a sub roll to go since it was a 6 hour drive home....if you never had smoked ostrich TRY IT...it looks and taste just like roast beef but is 99% fat free...boy, I wish I was 50% fat free...
  12. Another good tip for latex paint is when your done and have to cap the paint "can" put a plastic bag over the can opening (flat) and then apply the tin cover...this makes a much better seal and that paint can will be good for many more years to come...of course some paints are now only available with plastic cans that have screw on caps.
  13. BPS is OK, I have been to three BPS stores and three Cabela's store through the USA and if I had to pick it would be Cabela's in a heart beat. Cabela's customer service is second to none....
  14. WOW, sounds like a lot of you guys in the Great White North are getting it bad....well at least it's not the H1N1 flue as that can kill you........my oldest son is a doctor at William Patterson Air Force Base and he had a 26 year old pregnant women with the H1N1 flue.....unfortunately she lost the baby and last I heard she was only getting a 30% chance of survival.......I felt so bad I haven't and wouldn't ask how she made out.
  15. Actually I have to agree at this point but we as sportsmen can't take that chance with this administration as the liberal Democrats have and will try to take our sportsmen rights away from us at every turn......it's like the NRA always having our back on gun issues...give them one gun to ban and it's just the beginning.. (hey, I even spelled administration the first time right... )
  16. NOPE, Tundra is just great the way she is.... I know that Canadians didn't vote for him but if they could of MANY would of.....maybe even you. I do appreciate you posting this but I already heard it from Rush this afternoon while driving. Our ammo supply is now on the upswing and I don't see anymore short supplies in the future.....I have over 4,000 (rifle/shotgun/handgun) at the present time so I am not worried...just got another 100 shells delivered from Cabela's a couple of week ago so I am more then set for any kind of hunting and the cost is much less than in Canada...I know as I checked just in case... And NO there are NO serial numbers as you suggest on our ammo....BTW are you even allowed hand guns in Canada...I know they are now after your rifles....I hope you someday regain the Spring Bear Hunt in Ontario. Bob
  17. They have tried for YEARS to take away our guns...do you REALLY think they will stop us from fishing.....ANY BETS......now for those who did supported OBAMA and I KNOW there are MANY CANADIANS here that did, are you happy so far with what he's doing and trying to do.......I know I am NOT. Bob
  18. I can only say one word.....FANTASTIC ! ! !
  19. So, is the crappie, perch and bluegill fishing any good in Rice Lake....not that I would every travel that far to catch pan fish.
  20. I fish Chautauqua Lake each year for crappies and I can bet my last jig that I can launch my boat on a ice free Chautauqua Lake by April 1st every year....I once had my boat fishing walleye and crappie on March 13th many years ago (must of been a global warming year...LOL) as our walleye season is open until March 15th every year. So what would you guess or depend on to get that boat back into the water ? ? ? Bob BTW do you think I'm ready for some soft water action..
  21. This stuff happens almost EVERYDAY on the East Side of Buffalo.
  22. The like the RayMarine radios better......they are the old Raytheon Company and put out a QUALITY product which is more reliable then the Lowrance radio.....Lowrance has had a LOT of quality issues lately ever since Navico bought them out....but anyways here's the one I would recommend. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...requestid=33375 Bob READ THE CUSTOMER RATINGS ON BOTH UNITS as Cabela's does sell both.
  23. You have to add up the beans for each unit but I have seen where it made more sense for some guys to put TWO LMS 520 on their console instead of moving up to a larger screen...same might be said for the HDS 5 I have two LMS units networked together.....one on the console and one at the bow when using the trolling motor or just sitting up there...I never thought I would to that but it's GREAT....I also have a Ethernet cord going from one unit to the other...this gives me a choice of which transducer I want both units to use....the one the transom or the one on the trolling motor....this is a GREAT feature, especially when you want to watch the depth finder up front but don't want to use the trolling motor, like on Lake Erie. Bob
  24. CONGRATULATIONS.....can't say we didn't make Canada work for it...and a NICE CEREMONY after the game. Bob now bring on SPRING....
