Limer.......VERY nice fish.......on the flats you say....they could be moving to those fall transition areas where mud meets rock and none or not much change in depth...this has been a good pattern for me for years on inland lakes in the fall....but it's still a hot summer pattern down here.
I KNOW it's illegal for non-residents and I'm not talking for commercial purposes as this article refers to....but only to personal use WHILE your up there fishing.....BTW are we allowed to pick nightcrawler or is that also illegal for non-residents.....
And how many MILLIONS are in metropolitan Toronto....compared to 265,000 residents in Buffalo...... ...also take into consideration that the Leafs sell what....25,000 tickets per game while the Bills sell close to 80,000 seats for each game....
And they are still tasting as fresh as the day I caught them...
When I get back from Vegas the perch bite should be on again........but the freezer is still bulging at it's sides with crappie, perch, walleye and now lots of salmon....maybe I'll have to practice catch and release perch fishing......NOT........
This area (Temagami) has ALWAYS sparked my interest, but every time I follow any of these threads for more fishing info I only see small or few fish caught...maybe I'm just not seeing the good thread on this area.
What I never could understand is WHY non-residents can't catch their own bait...ESPECIALLY on fly in trips where you don't have the advantage of sometimes purchasing bait when needed. We don't have those restrictions here.
Dipsy's WORK GREAT as they get off to the side of the boat where other diver planers don't......but with that say it's still a crap shoot on the depth and how far they go off to each side of the boat.......TOO MANY VARIABLE when it comes to line diamameter, etc.....
But you have to bring her back at the end of the day........She will eat you out of house and home when it comes to SNACKS for retrieving....
Had her out yesterday on Lake Erie (the Catt).....she doesn't know when to quit....but doesn't like to jump off the dock......she will double back and got to shore to swim way out for her "wood" duck....LOL
Fishing is NEVER the same as last year......and it's never as good, and never as bad as you hear it is or last year........this has held true for every lake I have fished in the last 40+ years.
You can come down here and train the puppies.........but you will have take her with you..
We have THOUSANDS of acres of State and Federal swamps to train them.
