Thank you for sharing a bit of your world and your monster pike!! Every time I read a description of removing the hook by pushing all the way through...I feel a bit green.....I know it is the best way but I am sooooo hoping I never confirm that information with my own skin! lol Good that it has healed up trouble free!!

These carp didn't clear the water but hit the surface hard enough that we heard them...difficult to say how far out of the water they were as it was dark. Cliff has better night vision than I do....he might be able to tell you more. Common carp will jump and clear the water. A year ago I wouldn't have thought they could but I have seen many do it in the past weeks...even get some serious air now and then. The 21lb carp from last night also jumped and cleared the water during the fight.

lol Roy I am sure the carp gear will be in the car somewhere....just in case we aren't having luck with the other fish and I promised you a hair rig etc..

One of the faults of this site...it will never help one diet! lol Haven't had chicken like that in years......boy do they look yummy! Thanks for reminding me of days past

Thanks Joey Really I did! LOL If it hadn't been swimming in that location, I might have considered it......then again, not sure it would have fit in my net, bigger than it looks in the picture. A skunk like last night doesn't bother me.....I had spent the daytime with two 5 year olds.....I would have been happy to sit there last night even without fishing LOL

Cliff and I have been asked recently if we ever get skunked..... It was my turn to fish last night, was out from about 9pm until 11pm and nothing! Had a few line bumps but no takers. I did however see a very nice pike in the area.......pulled in the carp line, grabbed my other rod and made a few casts. Didn't get to try for long...pike bolted and just as I was wondering where it went I saw another large dark profile in the water.....upon closer inspection.....I saw this..... After that, I tried carping for a bit longer but nothing.....ah well..it happens!!

I have heard that some of the Dollarama's sell tackle but never found any.....thanks for confirming that they indeed do and that the lures (at least one anyway) do catch fish! Nice looking spinner also!

Nice Roy! Still trying to find some in our area that are willing to bite. Nice adaption of the bottom bounce....will have to remember that if I ever get a boat

What a great read!! Congratulations on your new PB Awesome that you had such a good time.....nice to know that swim produces in the AM, hadn't yet had the opportunity to try it out. Loved your description of "the log" as we refer to it......cost me 3 fish this past week. Thank you for picking up some of the garbage while you were there also....always worse there on the weekends . Really nice of you to take the time to help out the grandfather and his grandkids....I am sure they will remember the feel of that fish for a long time!!
