  1. During the trip to Lakair I managed to ruin 2 husky jerks (just about all the "paint" is gone) and this evening I managed to lose my last "good" one. I have no complaints as these lures were fished and hit hard, mostly pike and muskie. It was suggested that I seal new ones before fishing with them if I want them to last a bit longer. Great idea but I haven't a clue how to do this. Suggestions?? Thanks!
  2. Looks like you did alright to me! Love that last picture, at first I thought it might be the wishful thinking pose hehe
  3. You got some really nice pictures and fish Mike. Nice to see your muskie on a screen larger than 2" Congrats again!
  4. I can only dream....thanks for sharing that picture Larry
  5. Nice Mirror Victor! Still haven't caught a mirror but then I guess if I was more dedicated like yourself I might just get one LOL
  6. Hey Daryl, Erie is more than 2 hours away. If you are not interested in the Kawartha's, I would take BITEME.Esq's advice and PM Percher Best of luck, will be interested to hear how the new boat is and how you do
  7. Beauties, unreal day.....thanks for sharing the story and the pictures!!
  8. gorgeous pictures!
  9. Well done. One of these days I am going to have to fish for whiteys, if for no other reason than to confirm they smell like cucumbers hehe
  10. Happy Belated Birthday to you both! Looks like a great way to spend a weekend. Nice cats as well
  11. This link Guide to eating Ontario sport fish might help answer your questions.

  13. Looks like a really great day! Congrats on having one of those non-stop action days
  14. Nice looking Pike, congrats! Nice to salvage a trip with a great fish
  15. Quick google seems to confirm the information that Rich has offered. There might another member that has more info but if not maybe try calling the Kushog Lake Marine Phone #: 705-489-2628, or a local tackle shop. Have a great trip!
  16. Nice looking fish Tom, sounds like everyone got into some and had fun. Thanks for taking the time
  17. Not familiar with the area you are going to but if I were going on a trip like that and could take only minimal tackle, would consider the following.. Add a few steelhead type jigs to the assortment. spinner at least one crank/body bait a few hooks and assorted weights..as long as you have line you can tie up a variety of "rigs" have a great trip!
  18. Can't wait to see your pictures Rob...........hurry up will ya LOL
  19. Governater, Glad that I might have been able to help but do not be too quick to discount what Bernie66 and Fang have said..is the lure you have cupped in the front? Also consider what action the lure had when you used it, lots of lures can look alike but the action is for different types of fishing and very important if you want to duplicate it. That being said, a pencil popper is a nice lure to use for pike if that is your goal.
  20. Thanks again for helping make it such a wonderful weekend..look forward to our next trip to your Lodge Still working on the pictures we talked about, will send you a link when we get it done.
  21. Great shots TJ......thanks again for all that you and your family do to help put this weekend together and they say news travels fast on the internet LOL
  22. Great pictures Maureen and the bread you made for the dinner was delish!! Good luck with the cinnamon rolls, will be sending you a PM with the website I mentioned, hopefully a recipe there that will work. Take care!
  23. Thank you everyone for your kind comments. Lakair is always a good time, thank you again to all who help make it such a great weekend with or without fish. Thanks TJ, always a pleasure to see you, Monique and the kids. Look forward to the next time. Thanks again Chris, I really enjoyed it and appreciate the lesson/pointers for the walleye. I promise, next time, you will see a "proper" hook set Also want to thank you for your navigation help, much nicer trip out that way this year. Please give Sam a few pats from me, great dog. Great to meet you also. Sorry that I did not stop to chat longer, wasn't aware that you were only there for a brief time, maybe next time. Thanks Bob. The van in the picture is a Kia Sedona and we tow a 14 ft Sea Nymph with an 18Hp Merc. Per Kia, the Sedona only requires a hitch to tow the rated capacity of 3500lbs. We recently did a bit of reading on different vans and towing capacities and if I am remembering correctly, the Freestar requires a towing "package". Recent reading also led to the understanding that not all "packages" are the same...some as simple as a hitch and better rad, while others are quite involved (upgraded rads, coolers, suspension, brakes etc.) and the package can vary by year. I would contact Ford regarding their recommendations and research/google the specific year and model of your Freestar regarding towing specifically. Good luck! Happy to help Lexx. Was only teasing you about the size, call it trophy envy Thanks Steve, you have no idea how relieved I was to see your 47.5 Musky for our team when I got home. When we left for Lakair, our team did not have a musky, so I knew that I would need a picture with a sign if I was lucky enough to get one. I got the musky but in all the excitement, I forgot the pic with the sign Not only is your fish bigger but it saved me from a lashing about forgetting my sign, the one I was going to get and the one I was giving myself.....double thanks go to you!! Always good to catch up with you and Brooke, thanks for all the fish chat and the "weed catcher" info....going to look into that for sure. Until next time.
  24. reminds me of a pencil popper. Google it and if you have the patience to go through the plethora of designs both mass production and local, you might find just what you are looking for. Good luck and congrats on the pike.
  25. Congrats Wendel and wife! Beautiful fish for sure, love the shot of the 49. Thanks for sharing your day, info and pictures. Look forward to reading the next one. Bob, that second picture you posted reminds me why I need a bigger boat before I even think about fishing those waters
