The Penn 109 was being built in the 1930s, and Penn still makes models with those numbers. The company should be able to provide structural clues for dating their reels, and they stock parts for even their older reels. 109 aka knuckle buster

I am sure there are still some pretty fish in the system but wasn't up to looking for them. Trout...walk walk walk ..drift drift drift drift...walk walk walk etc. Carp....cast, sit down, read book and wait for fish to come to you LOL Clear polish Mike You know where we are Perfectly acceptable to mix this bait in the house, I often use my good mixer to blend it. I am sure we will be out again this week, have plenty of mix to share if you need it and you have the numbers

I usually stay very clear of any of these types of debates but....... "If the cops were doing there job in the first place we wouldn't have this debate!" EXCUSE ME?? Please please please tell me that you do not really intend to imply that the situation you described above and that drinking and driving etc. is the fault of the police because they are not doing their job?? Human beings make choices, good or bad but WE decide to follow the laws or not and WE are responsible for the results that come from our decisions even if we are not always held accountable. IF the day ever comes when "I plead innocent your honor as there was not a police officer present to stop me from committing said crime" because a valid defense.......God help us all.

Welcome to the board! You have gotten some great suggestions for starter tackle, can't say that I would add anything to the tackle department. I offer a few suggestions for taking young kids fishing in a boat though. Live bait. More than you need. Be this minnows and or worms. Our little one likes to play with the bait, especially when the fishing is slow or she feels that she has caught her limit A bucket. Great to put a few minnows in for them to play with. If we are going to bring home a few pannies for the table, we allow her to play with one in the bucket..loves it. Our little one is a girl so the bucket can be used for other things as well Bubbles or something similar Snacks I hope you and your boys have lots of luck and create many lifelong memories. Oh and jigs are awesome, especially for kids

Definitely worth the trip. I was speaking with a few of the organizers and they were saying that they would really like to get more women and young people involved. They have done a wonderful job creating a friendly atmosphere and everyone that wants to help gets a chance, it was really fun to watch the young children with the nets.
