  2. G'morning pete..........Pete here....lol This past week I picked up a spare prop.....17 x 14 Cost me $70.....here in Quinte... 'Mobile Marine Services'.........613.922.8741...ask for Don.. .he's a retired marine mech working outta his garage. ....also p/u 70' of 5/8" braided dock line off him @ $1/ft. I had gone to BayMarine in Belleville and Pete'sPropShop on the Rez in Desoronto and both quotes for my spare prop were similar in at $250....
  3. Thanks for that article solo..... Almost missed it after replying to McQ's 2 great reads like that back-back are a rare thing these days.... Im heading into my shop right now to check out my blade and clevis supplies... Thanks guys....
  4. What an exellent, informative read McQ. Some NEW info and some OLD but a great report just the same.
  5. ..$6 Bills Thats just under 12 days Trolling in Fuel. Hmmmmmm?????? What to do???????
  6. From what I see it comes down to 2 issues: 1/....How much you have to spend 2/....Do you have the room to mount it. Maybe add a 4th batterey too...I did. I have a 7" screen so the split screen isnt too much an issue...but if'n I had the money a 2nd screen for the chartplotter would be nice..(I have the room). But would still use the split screen tho with the GPS/sonar.. ....Perhaps a 3rd screen..lol..I think theres room...... ....just wired in the AquaVu underwater camera this past weekend....Love it......It'll keep the non anglers who ride along entertained at the very least.
  7. nice pic Raf.....did you take the shot? One wouldnt need a laxative at a time like that if One had bowel prob's for sure. .....I'll back some of you...it would be ignorant to even think of harming one of these babies.
  8. Im very happy for you Mo. WOW you 2......bigCliffNbeans.....what exellent friends you have been for many. Yeah Mo I am very happy you got your boat in finally...I know you worked hard to get this boat and it sure sucks when it isnt in the water and even worse...NotWorking right......Pleased for you. Goodluck with 'er the rest of the season.
  9. Many have said it already but just the same... Exellent fishing GNODDY.... I hope you manage to contain your whereabouts well.... its always a downright shame when a great area gets swamped with too many wannabee musky anglers whom do not carry all the proper release equipment or even the right rodNreel. .....let alone the added fishing pressure. Congrats on your luck of a decent fishery where you trailer.
  10. When I purchased the Navionics Gold chip for my sonar unit it came with a mail-in rebate type offer for another chip called a 'FishNchip". All you had to do was send in your original receipt and the serial# etc..of your product..where you bought it from etc.. I did this about 6 weeks back or so and yesterday recieved only a letter stating that I was missing information..... I thought..what kind of info so I telephoned them (1-800#) as opposed to e-mailing them... Sure glad I did.... Spoke with their customer service manager...Mary-Ellen in Massech????choosits????/..the US The receipt I had sent in was the wrong one....it was for other fishing equip from another time...but from the same place...I laughed..I also couldnt believe she actually pulled this info out or even had it on file. Anyway.....She laughed too and told me that this 'FishNchip"..would be shipped out to me the next biz day.....but please, for filing purposes ..send in the proper receipt and when others ask about Navionics to let them know about the exellent customer service....So.....ThereYa go Mary-ellen....thankyou.
  11. WTG and great news for you Bud! I still dont buy the 'GREATNESS:" of this product yet as opposed to the regular bagged Gulp. Just the same....good for you.
  12. Thanks for the report Brian.good to read this info here instead of having to look for it. BigTime congrats to you Mark....BTW..that Abu7000 works great Mark.. Congrats also to Karl, Mike and Dave and company too.... Brian...Ive been enjoying your bassin reports lately from the tourney side...you may not be fishing them as much any more but perhaps theres a future in writing them up for you to come.....keep'em commin' -peter PS.....Heres to a speedy recovery for Mark after surgery ....100%
  13. Hey workwear.. The Lowrance manual has the trolling motor 'ducer installment instructions in it. It goes on the very bottom of the head and as John mentioned above, carefully wind the cable up the shaft allowing enough slack for the motor to operate fully. BTW...my TM is now working Bud! I just cleaned all the terminals w/emery cloth and lubed all electric and once reconnected she just fired up as new.......go figure. I alswo took the prop off only to find much weed tangle.....(after repair complete)..so it can only be more efficient by now.. The big test will be this weekend...thnx for your help.
  14. Originally...I wasnt going to respond to this... "Its a Bling Thing' it seemed.. As I read on about those who posted I found I wasnt that bad off.....at all. (as far as spending goes) Then there was the wife factor...I had tofd her about this thread and she was then very ineterested about just how many I actually had so here goes....(she cant see inside the rod compartments on the boat) Musky..............................w/reels....4......for most aplications Bass................................w/reels....4...... " " Walleye............................w/reels....8.........." " Trout creek/river...............w/reels....4....dont use them much 'cept off the lock bridge in January now.. Panfish/Crappie................w/reels.....6.....early spring crappie and perchin when the mood hits. Downriggers.....................w/reels....4.......MustHave a backup Planer Boards...................w/reels....4......MustHave a Backup Anitques...........................w/reels....3.......Well.......they are here Guests/Kids/Brothers etc...w/reels....5......who knows why...they are my older ones IceFishing w/reels...........................14 GRAND TOTAL.................................56 I had no idea......... Seriously..................... my musky/bass/walleye/Downrigger/PlanerBoard are all 110% must haves and are in use. The ice fishing gear.......well, none of my old friends fish and they come to the BOQ each winter since Ive been here and I outfit themm all........its a great day/weekend. The kids/extra guests stuff I suppose I could do without or have a yard sale....I dunno.
  15. Hey Capatanny...... Thnx for the info.. I buy almost exclusively from Gagnon;s but also have done so for many years.. Justin has done a great job marketing wise and he's got a great ProStaff on hand at all/most times. I feel real fortunate that every purchase I make there now I get the 'Prefferred Customer' stamp on my receipt and the cost.........Dont need the sale but thanks for the heads up. They really have a great stock of items since after thje fire reno... For 'Bassin/Musky/Panfish/Wallice/salmon and the river/creek guys they got everything.... Dont forget about their awesome hunting section...... Justin BTW is an avid fishing tourney guy as well on his way to olypian level crossbow hunter No matter where you may buy your gear..they wil price match+ without proof of others adverts. Exellent shop and service.... Ive shopped there since at least 1971....OMG...Crikey..OLD...thats why I hurt so much.
  16. Well said ART........ If I need that type of bait I buy his brothers..... Its still a Yamamotto bait ..but $2-3 cheaper.. I buy these from Gagnon's in Oshawa. They are on the same shelf and are...... 'side by each'......
  17. WTG Leechman.... I have both the leeches and minnows and they both were leaking....made my boat smell like crap. That was exellent info to have bud and for that I thankyou. As for the original post...... I think the entire THING was a scam....a sales/marketing scam to the extreme. My wife swears by them as her confidence bait so Im with it for the time being....BUT.. I'd never buy another bucket...Never. Leak or not......the real thing is the real deal and a darnsight more affordable.. Gulp makes some great products but I think you;'d be further ahead getting the regular gulp rather then the gulpAlive.....SAVE A FEW BUCKS AS WELL. ....if money isnt an issue ..try it out. I believe its a waste of money. My.......$0.02
  18. ...forgot to add that in almost all instances, the fluoro leader is several lb's heavier then the main line. ........(ie: the 100PP has a 120lb leader"
  19. lil angler..... I use quite a bit of PP line. Anywhere from 4-40lb for bassin' My main use is on my big equipment for lunge, Im equiped w/65-80-100lb's...all w/fluoro leaders 'cepting the bass lines...Tied direct.
  20. Bryan,..the missis and the Mutt.....Welcome! If you use the 'SEARCH" button on this website asking what you just did you'll be pleasently surprised at the find.....inclusive of all you asked. Another great method would be to search...'FishHeadRic"... He gave a great account of fishing the city and its close limits. This is the best place for fishong info youll ever find....and more!
  21. Havent gotten together in a while which is a shame .. but it doesnt mean that kind thoughts dont go your way especially this day Bud! I feel fortunate to call you a friend.... .....as all of the others whos lives you have touched. Happiest of birthdays Roy.
  22. ..I couldnt ever get into the lowprofile reels at all... Today it all changed...sorta. Its a round baitcaster... Okuma Induron 250 LXa.....w/ 6'-8" Okuma EV-X.."spinnerbait".. rod in 1 pce. Fairly reasonable in price for a total cost of $266 taxes in...spooled w/ #17 fireline crystal. Man, I really enjoy this setup..took 'er for test drive this evening... I believe the reel to be gauranteed for 5 yrs and the rod for life whatever that means. Just the same..a sweet deal if anyone is considering a baitcaster other than the low profile ones out there. I should add that included in the price was a few bags of Rage Plastics, some wide gap hooks, 4 flippin jigs and.....Bass, Lookout.
  23. Greetings back at ya Jacques. My eldest daughter lives just outside of Gatineau., ...bountiful fishing opurtunities, you must love it. Thanks for posting those exellent photos.. .....you'll be welcomed here with reports as these.
  24. Danged dial-up.....another pic not able to view.
  25. Well said......Hope its listened to. NewAngler...I, like many others spent countless hours researching most all equip. we purchase then if opinions are still required you should pretty much have it narrowed down and know of what you ask.
