Catching your heaviest musky always makes for a great day. Lots of energy when released. Next time soon!

Back to buckhorn tomorrow. Hopefully we get a couple nibbles.

Fished Upper Buckhorn last Wednesday and had a good day with my boy and brother. He used worms/minnows on a jig and was busy all day. Enjoy the pics A nice bass for him 20" largie for me. My brother caught this 38" I guess I had the luckiest day with this 42" that cleared the water 3 times. Thanks for reading.

After my son was sick for almost 3 weeks, I needed to give him a great day of shore fishing on Sunday. We both got new pb crappie and a new catfish record too. 16 slabs (12 home), 5 oos bas, 1 pike (him) and catfish plus a few nice sized rockies. A turtle got a hold of our stringer before we left, leaving 2 crappie heads for us to laugh at. His crappie was 12" and mine was 14". You can see assumed claw marks on the 14 from the snapper. Lucky I got a pic at all!!

A great event and lots of deals to be had everywhere. My only idea to improve the event is to hold a 2nd one in the Fall.

Found this pic of a guy with a 15.5" outta lake simcoe recently. Hawg!

Nice to see Leafs getting lots of extras this year like the 24/7 and an outdoor game. Destroyed the hawks thanks to our 3rd and 4th lines. Go Leafs! I will be the Last Fan Standing.

I'll be on Little Lake this weekend. For your small craft, keep to the south end for accessibility and decent fishing around the islands. The regattas have to slow down through there so you should be ok.

I have 2 outfits....one is for casting 7 ft heavy action shimano rod with a calcutta 200 and the other is a 8ft medium heavy rod with shimano triton reel. I used the triton for niagara musky and handled a near 40 pounder nicely to the boat until the worst net job in the world happened. Handled the initial strike no problem as the extra length and softer tip worked well.

Keep it going Darren, there is a big one with your name on it!

Nice fish big guy! West Arm sure brings back memories. When I was 12-14 years old we did a couple weeks every year to the Welcome Lodge (beside Lucky Strike). No idea if its still there but that area was my favorite to fish hands down. Nice perch, wallys near the cabin, walking the shoreline through the woods catching bass/pike and my 1st musky 33" came from there off a 1" beetle spin. My brother's perch picture was used in the brochure for the place, that was cool back then. I will hopefully return one day Thanks for sharing.

Great trip and report! -
Any bridges around with some nearby deep water? I'd start there near dark with minnows near the bottom. I fish a bridge for pics and we just drop a hook, sinker, and minnow and just jig it. Its basic ,nothing fancy, but we catch them that way. If you cast out with the minnow, just twitch it in off bottom slowly. Watch the line for the pick up, thats the key.

Serious pike there. Great report.

All it takes is one bite at the right time, at the right place, with the right lure, with strong enough line, and a way to get them into the boat (or shore). Easy for that guy.

I've seen a few caught in the Grand River off float and minnow. Lucky hookset needed.

Hope you get your fire because the evenings just aren't the same without. Last year's ban in the Muskoka's was brutal. This past Saturday I had a campfire with Honeymoon Suite playing a concert 2 minutes away from us. Cooking dogs, drinking beer, and the Suite playing = Good times!
