Wow. ok mark off Duck Lake on the list of places not to go. I feel your pain though. Last year we vacationed on a small lake near Burk's Falls called Jack's Lake and the fishing was very tough. UGGG the family enjoyed the resort and scenery so we are going back this year. Not looking forward to the fishing. Hope someone can give you some help

Thanks for the update. We had friends at Balsam last week they also found the fishing very slow.

uggg. so sad to hear "chasing pike" on Balsam. I used to love Balsam for musky but since we moved from Barrie 10 years ago it is no longer a destination for me. I imagine the musky population is suffering by now, but i hope I am wrong.

I have caught many walleye on 8 to 12 inch musky baits. Most of the walleye have been in the 6 to 8 lb range, but the occasional smaller one

the mighty sheephead saves another day. Nice to reconnect after so many years

I have never fished Cameron but there are several launches on Balsam. I think there is at least one launch in the narrows between the 2 lakes if I remember correctly

I am impressed you guys take a shower. I have a friend who doesn't even brush his teeth when we go for a couple days.

I used to have a camera...problem was I spent more time floating down the niagara looking for musky than actually fishing. Was quite fascinating.

some of these motors also have a thermostat. I thought I had a problem once because mine wasn't peeing out either...waited around 30 seconds and it started. That was in some cold conditions, gotta admit I was very nervous letting it run those 30 seconds!

I fished that area last year for the first time. We were probably 1-3 miles off shore if I remember correctly. South or west wind should be good over there but a north or east not so good. I only have a 16'8" boat and I don't remember any white knuckle experiences over there

had a 9.9. I wanted a tinny but already had a motor (8 hp nissan). The guy would only sell me the tinny I wanted if I bought his motor too. So I did. Of course then it becomes my problem to sell the 9.9 not his!

yes there is a lot of that going on. I put a 9.9 Johnson on Marketplace for $875, whole bunch of "will you take $500 for it". Pretty sure those people just plan to turn around and sell it again. Because if they wanted it for themselves they would improve the offer after getting their lowball declined
