  1. Where do you find these updates? They're not listed on the Lowrance site. Units are still working today as well....
  2. Last Gen 2 update listed on Lowrance website is V4.0 from Feb 2015 for non-touch & V6.0 from August 2016 for Gen 2 touch. Mine has the latest update and it's still working fine. Did you have a very old software installed maybe?
  3. 54 bucks on Amazon, 34 for the two wire model (plug and receptacle combo). They seem to work fine for me. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B002IVEFD2/ref=twister_B06Y4KF2SG?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
  4. If anyone really thinks it's up to the CO to look up your license, you might be right but I have a feeling he may charge for the service if he has to do so....also, you are still required to carry your outdoors card (assuming they have sent it to you). The electronic provision is only for your license summary.
  5. MTO does NOT collect taxes for boats or motors, only the trailers. The boat license (some incorrectly refer to it as registration which is a different thing altogether) is Federal and they are supposed to collect that tax based on the license transfer process. That said, many folks never get billed for the federal tax and some get the bill years later but it's kind of hit and miss for some reason. As many have mentioned the value of the boat claimed does not need to include the outboard motor, just the boat so get three receipts, claim the boat only and if you're lucky, you'll never get a bill anyway.
  6. I don't really get how people want to hang this slump on the goaltenders especially Sparks. He's maybe not a star but he is .500 as a backup and in the last 6 games has a way better save percentage than super Freddie. (11 goals on 114 shots vs 16 goals on 77 shots).
  7. Why is that? The OMNRF enforce the migratory bird laws that are federal not the RCMP....not all federal laws have to be enforced by RCMP.
  8. Can't speak to all the technicalities but this was back in 2006 and was all over the news at the time, the Globe & Mail article is just the first one to pop up on google. Anyway Lew, the post wasn't meant to disparage our first responders in any way, it's just kind of a funny story. Sorry for the hijack OP.
  9. They also are known to slip in the Home Depot at times too. Another gem from North York Fire!: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/hot-pursuit-nabs-hoser-in-fire-truck/article18158892/
  10. Umm, they started Anderson and pulled him after the first 4 goals.....either way, you can't blame that loss on goaltending.
  11. I don't care who's fan you are, that's funny! Chris Neal in the front row nearly floored me!
  12. If you buy the outdoors card with a 3 year fishing license, it is printed right on the card so all you need to carry is that which is nice. If you go hunting or you have a 1 year fishing license, you need to carry your card AND a copy of your license summary either paper or electronic. I had a slightly different understanding but found out the hard way last week that the electronic license summary alone is not enough, you still need to carry the card. That said, I cannot understand either why they can't send you a little sticker to go on your card for each license either, it seems to work for our cars.....
  13. I ordered my new card on Dec 16th and it just came in the mail a week or so ago. To my surprise, the new card does have the 3 year fishing sticker on the back so that is all I need to carry if I'm fishing which is nice. One thing I misunderstood with all the changes was that all you needed to carry was a digital copy of your license summary on your phone and you were good to go. A CO who stopped me last week said I had to have the outdoors card in addition to either a paper or digital copy of the license summary for hunting or fishing (unless you have the 3 year sticker on your card of course). I didn't think this was true but just confirmed on page 6 of the new regs that this is in fact the case. You need your outdoors card with you at all times plus whatever proof you need for other licenses. Thankfully the CO was an understanding man...
  14. Spare mattress is always handy...queen size is best just in case you find a friend in the bush.
  15. I carry a compass and a mini air compressor. We travel some pretty rough, rocky trails into the hunt camp and it's not unusual to knock a tire off a rim from time to time so if you have the compressor, you can usually get rolling again.
  16. The shipping was about $40US, and taxes/duty was 23%. It arrived quick, around a week as I recall. The tent for my Denali was about $225 and the thermal was $250 US last year. I ordered some poles a couple of years ago too and they came quickly with no issues.
  17. I went through the same process and ended up ordering direct. They do return e-mails but sometimes take quite a while so you're best to just call. Their customer service is really good but not on this side of the border.
  18. Maybe they can re-program Hutchinson to play D.....
  19. New regulations finally to be announced....no more 'Hold my beer while I fly this drone mission' it appears. Lots of rules that don't really appear too enforcable. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/drones-aviation-garneau-regulations-1.4970750
  20. He played 90 NHL games before the leafs got him....
  21. Lots of input from last year on the topic here: https://ontariofishingcommunity.com/topic/85612-will-an-18v-drill-turn-an-8-auger/?page=3
  22. I'm not sure you're going to find the oil pump by dropping the pan anyway; is it not behind the timing cover on the Vortec"s?
  23. This should answer most of the questions...: https://www.nhl.com/news/seattle-2021-nhl-expansion-draft-rules-same-as-vegas-golden-knights-followed/c-302586918
  24. I'll hold your beer while you climb up the crap covered dead tree full of angry birds to step on their nests!
  25. I put Hankook Optimo's on my wife's CRV and they worked well for what they are; a compromise. They certainly aren't as good as winter tires but are far better than all seasons so for people who don't drive a lot they're a good option. They didn't last all that long (around 60k) and I just replaced them with Toyo Celsius which are far superior as far as noise and ride go but we'll have to see how long they live. I really like not having to store and change another set of tires.
