  1. minnow baits, the few that I've got have been on minnow baits and I have met a few guys who use only jigs and plastic minnows for them.
  2. there aren't any true residents in ontario, and judging by the fact that he also got a salmon I'd say it's a steelie
  3. just out of curiosity is it possible to catch them on lures?
  4. Ok, how about this. Today I saw a slit fish with ALL of it's eggs still there!
  5. watching it a second time I actually think it's a bluegill
  6. saw a slit male today (chinny), how do you not tell the difference?
  7. just a reminder to everyone that it's this saturday! Also, if anyone will be coming through the K/W area with room for one more let me know please
  8. just use some white 6/0 tying thread, works well for me. And use a half hitch or whip finish to knot it.
  9. Well I have a TFO 9' 8/9 wt that I love for the smaller streams, sadly it is out of commission right now. So for the moment I'm using a 7' mh rod with a shimano sahara loaded with 15 lb braid and a 10 lb mono leader. I prefer a longer rod, but this works fine for now.
  10. Most of those guys are bottom fishing, most of them probably snagging/flossing, trying to avoid any trouble by going at night.
  11. If you're fishing on bottom you are almost certainly NOT getting bit, those are fish running into the line. Use the floats and disperse split shot down from your float towards the bait, starting about 1-2 feet from the bait. On a side note the other day I tried some of that atlas plastic roe and it worked pretty well, landed one and had a bunch on that broke us off.
  12. Say hello to my little friend... ... I know there are a few in that box, now use them!
  13. Nice! I landed a beautiful chrome female myself yesterday
  14. The line managed to get cut somehow on the clicker....
  15. The other day (Monday) I was on Oshawa creek, using my pin. The line got wrapped up inside the reel so I took the spool off to try and get it out. Of course as I'm doing this it slips out of my hand and I lose it in the drink, it's a Greys Bewick silver centrepin spool, I lost it just below the Thomas st bridge. PLEASE if anyone finds it shoot me a PM or email me at [email protected] if anyone finds it I would be glad to tie 20 steelhead/trout flies of the persons choice. Thanks
  16. was just out east, no fish yet, lots of people though.

I'd also check the graphs, it's been pretty dry, I'm guessing it will take a while to blow out if it does at all.

Went out to Oshawa instead, all blown out, not a fish to be seen. Tried the pier too, a few fish seen but not much activity.
