  1. Got a late start today, Just finished a few hours on the bay. 3 hours trolling 0 hits. I marked 8 balls of bait only no hooks. Got 1 small one casting a jigging spoon. Great day on the water....
  2. What size do you prefer as a fluorocarbon leader from your mainline when trolling cranks? Is #10 test fluorocarbon leader heavy enough for the deep diving cranks?
  3. JESUS!.. this is the worst duck season I've had in along time! hahhaha! Have somebody will'n to tow my boat and you live 1.5 hours away LOL!
  4. The truck will be a daily driver, but I'm hoping to take the train to work so I only will be driving 5-10 mins to the station so no point in owning 2 vehicles (small car & truck) for myself now. Yeh.. I'm gonna end my duck season early. I was so excited to get out way into December this year with a boat that can handle. Looks like her last trip this year will be a trip to Quinte then in for her 20 hour service and to bed until the spring... Crappy part is we just purchaced a 2012 Lund Alaskan this year .. The new truck was supposed to come in 2 - 3 years guess it will be here early. The wifes Grand Vitara can tow it and is rated for the weight but I don't want to tow with it every weekdend, we both own suzuki's and I've seen the quality and don't believe it will stand up. Nope she was full I just filled it up that morning
  5. There is a new F-150 in my future I'm just deciding if I want to buy the truck with the options I REALLY WANT.. or do I buy the truck I need LOL! All I need really is Crew Cab & 4X4 but would like a Loaded FX4 hehe!
  6. I've been thinking of chasin the eyes on the 17th... Since I had put my old truck to rest, my wife mentioned we are visiting family that weekend in kingston. So I will be borrow her Grand Vitara to bring the boat out 1 more time before she goes away for the year I need a new truck ASAP! LOL!
  7. Well, Looks like I'm shopping for a new tow vehicle. For the third and last time my old girl left me on the side of the road since July. This time she quite in front of a wreckers and that's where she stayed! Here's my summer / fall with her. All work done in my driveway or on the side of the road. 1) Blew front brake lines in an emergency stop situation late June with our new lund in tow, SCARY!! - So I replaced all brake lines and parts Master Cylinder included front to back - Front shocks - Front Right drive shaft - 4 brand new Goodyear Wranglers (265/75 R16) were put on in August (now for sale) 2) Battery and alt went on the way home august long weekend. Replaced both 3) I have no idea what was wrong this time, it just shut off.. no sputtering or coughing..just shut off and would only turn over. I got no error codes when I did a diagnostic on the side of the road Saturday. - I figure it's a coil or a fuel pump or something I think it was her way of telling me she was tired and just wanted to rest now... I'll miss you old girl..you were a beast!!! -6 years with 5 years trouble free service, guess I can't complain just bad timing. 1990 Chevy single cab 4X4 5.7 Litre 5-speed Rest in peace!

  9. Done! Man.. I would have thought people would jump at a free hunt (AS LONG AS YOU KNOW THE LAKE LOL!)

So I'm looking for somebody tag along on a afternoon/evening duck hunt that knows the birds on Rice. I've never hunted rice and haven't been there in a very very long time. I got everything 3 dozen mallards, 6 dekota geese, 18' Lund Alaskan , avery quick set blind, dog etc. No where the ducks are LETS GO!

  12. man! that's a big bucket mouth! Congrats!
  13. I'm a geek by profession so all this tech in the new trucks excies me to no end! Those pictures have greatly increased my desire to get a new truck I really like the brown as well..looks very sharp with chrome trimmings, but I will be getting the silver with black trim as I'm terrible for washing my truck/car HAHA! Can't wait to get into that Loaded FX4!
  14. Very sorry to hear about your Mom. Take comfort in knowing your mom is with your dad now and both are watching over you! My deepest condolences! Greg
  15. Nice! Lew let me know how that Ecoboost works out for you. Were getting a new truck next year and I've been drowling over it. You'll love that back up camera for hook'n up the boat! My buddy has a new F-150 but with the 5 Litre and is getting great mileage, so the ecoboost should be even better! Congrats Man!
  16. Man you guys got some nice eyes!.... Thanks for sharing!
  17. If you kill a fish just for roe, that's poaching in my eye's..
  18. I found a great video on youtube I will try and track it down. This fella pre-ties all his snells but for the actual bead section he rigs them on a short 30# lbs test loop and puts them on a safety pin kind of like the slip bobber stops. So if you want certian colour beads on your harness, you take end of the harness line pass it through the bead loop, hold both ends and pull. The beads come off the loop onto your snell perfectly, clevis, blade everything. It's a great idea. I will be using this idea this winter. You could tie hundreds of diffent patterns and they would store way easier.
  19. Great report man!... Those are some sharp lookin harnesses.. Do you guys miss many eye's with just the 1 hook?
  20. Nice Eye's for sure.. I gotta get out there this year
  21. Nice pup! You won't need to those treats once she gets a few real ducks How's she doin on running blinds? Your gonna love that vest man.. It's very tough! My Suzy launched herself out of the boat after a bird I drop and landed on a stick which I didn't find when checked the area out after setting up. If she didn't have this vest on we would have been rushing to the emerg... There isn't even a mark on the belly of the vest. She grunted when she landed that's the only way I knew she hit something. This vest is 5 years old and still looks like new!
  22. N.A.W ...1000 acres CRAZY!... Congradulations! I'd give my left arm to shoot on private land again.. but.. truth be told I really like duck hunting on the water more. Good Luck on the hunt this year, hope ya bag one!
  23. Great report! Thanks for sharing!
