  1. Congrats guys - some beauties there for sure!
  2. Great stuff Steve. You guys had an impressive winter for sure. Can't wait to see what the softwater holds for you this year.
  3. Congrats Cliff. Nice fish and nice plug for Kempers work - I see a run on his jigs coming pretty soon
  4. Congratulations Simon! Wonderful news indeed!
  5. Congratulations! A beautiful addition.
  6. I'm with you on that KickingFrog - I have young cousins that put WAY to many things up there. I just don't lead an interesting enough life to have embarrassing things come back to haunt me anymore thank God.
  7. Thanks for wasting all of my time guys Nah seriously, I wouldn't have had a 10th the fishing opportunities and I'd still be fishing with nothing but a jig head if it weren't for this place. Great job and thanks again!
  8. Wow, great trip guys. Amazing variety of fish and some real lunkers. Looks like you all had a great time, thanks for the report and keep 'em coming!
  9. Agreed, Marks show is really well filmed - more of a nature documentary than a fishing show and I also wish there were more episodes. There's a few other fishing shows that I'd love to see in HD (and that I know are filmed in it). Time to pester rogers for WFN HD I guess.
  10. Wherever the girlfriend will let me? Regular trip to NW Ontario is a given and then wherever I can try out the new kayak and where ever anyone with a boat and a seat to fill with take me
  11. Great now EVERYONE is going to leave their jobs to be guides Amazing report from an amazing summer. Thanks for taking the time to put that together, I know it must have taken a while and we really appreciate it.
  12. That's it. Next time I'm back at my parents I'm making sure to call you NorthWesterners and getting more than hour outta T Bay. Beautiful fish and great pics of them Ben. Simon I can feel your pain from here - I'm pretty sure we've all had those days when you decide not to go and the other guy knocks it out of the park.
  13. It's definitely biased more towards keeping during the ice fishing season. Maybe it's just a matter of lugging gear out onto a frozen lake to sit on a bucket all day that makes us more inclined to bring something home. You know - have some sense of 'making it worth the misery' . In the summer except for maybe some walleye trips you don't see all that much keeping of fish on the board. Not that there's anything wrong with keeping fish within the stated limits (please lets not start up that war).
  14. Nice day Ben. Gotta love those perfect trips
  15. Nice stuff Simon. Congrats on a couple beautiful days in the frigid north.
  16. Mike Rowe did a 'Dirty Jobs' bit about how Talapia are used to clean waste water from striped bass farms: http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/dirty-jobs...aste-water.html. I'm never eating Talapia or carp again.
  17. Sheesh Karl, did you guys save anything for the next issue . I'll definitely pick it up.
  18. MY BOAT! AHHHHH!. Nah, I wish I had a boat nice enough to sink on the waterfront . Nice fish there Snag - glad to hear you didn't slide all the way in, those rocks looked slippery.
  19. Brilliant, those sun glasses are a riot. The second video was priceless: "I get him!". Thanks for sharing, great smile material for a monday.
  20. Congrats for sticking it out. I bailed as well after 4 hours of nothing and went for the perch (innisfil area), next time I'll try to last longer
  21. I walked out to the huts from innisfil as well. Thought I was gonna die by the time I got out to the town (and I mean town - damn there were lots of people out there). Managed to keep the feet dry but managed to keep the line clean as well . Funny thing was that the walk back didn't seem nearly as bad, seemed to be able to find prepacked trails a bit easier. Or maybe was the fact that I stopped 1/2 way back to get some perch and redeem the day with a small dinners worth. Funny how we complain when it's warm out isn't it. It aint't ice fishing if you aren't miserable
  22. Very sorry to hear that Lew. My condolences to you and your family.
  23. Got a letter from Rogers telling me that they wouldn't offer the cheap OOD subscription anymore, guess this explains why. Ah well, time to sign up for OFAH I guess.
  24. Took a snow day and while I'm "working from home" I happened to put on WFN and Inside Sportfishing (a show I've never seen) just started playing this 1958 fishing doc by Ted Williams about his trip to peru for black marlin. This is probably the coolest thing I've seen on WFN and I highly recommend looking up when it plays again (knowing WFN it'll be repeated about 100 times this week). Very cool seeing the gigantic gear and all the details they're going into. A cool look at fishing in the old days, gonna have to dig out my Hemmingway book collection after watching this I think. Anyhow, just thought I'd post a little recommendation to you all, commercial is over so I'm back to watching, er work, I mean work yeah quick edit #2: link to online version (puny video but if you dont get WFN...) FishBuzzTV Ted Williams. You can order the full 54 minute DVD from there too
  25. Great company and whiskey can always make up for slow fishing . Congrats on a successful first NW ont meetup Simon.
