Sorry lookinforwalleye,i had that rod confused for a claris,which is a few down the line from the compre,the cumara rods are very nice,and are a great investment i looked them up,sorry i just had them mixed up,but just the same a compre is still am amazing rod for around 100 and change,like JPD said they are top shelf rods bud !!!! cheers & good for you if you purchase one

Well looks like you guys need an ice -bungalow !!!!....man lake nipissing is famous for them you should check them out they have everything including satellite tv,bunk beds that you can lie in and still be jigging down the hole !!!! they all have gas BBQ's as well outside,man its like being in your living room,it would be something you would remember forever,i think there are some operators on simcoe that do the same thing,and lake nip,isnt to far its only a few hours from where you guys are,and the walleye fishing is usually good to great ,oh and lots of pike too !!! good-luck you should get lots of ideas if you google it for the lake nip area,or hut operators list,or try icefishingontario....

Well if you have the convergence rods and you like them,well for a few more dollars you can get a compre !!!! the difference is like night & day they are all around $ 100 bucks or so !!! and they are amazing rods with awesome sensitivity !!! so for a few more than what you would pay for the cumara,i believe they are around 60 bucks,man you gotta go the few dollars more you will not regret it,a great rod will up your catch rate too,its amazing,and you know its like the old saying goes: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR !!!!! cheers

Well i agree with smalliefisher & tdotfisherman...i have tons of lures,hundreds & hundreds !!!! some like you said 20yrs old and never even been in the water...i buy constantly,its very addicting,but i love it,and wont change a thing LOL..LOL..LOL . ..and i love just checking them all out for hours,cleaning modifying,changing hooks ect. ...it keeps me busy for hours,for example i bought $100 bucks worth of the new koppers baits yesterday at the fishing show !!!! man it never ends,and i know lots of us feel the same....cheers

Well start by doing your homework man !!!! grab a map, of your area and of the area you may want to fish,and search out all the creeks the lakes the briges,as well as the roads that lead to them....then go for a drive,and check them out then check what species you want to catch,and make sure they as well as the area is open to fishing,meaning the seasons ,as some will be open and some closed....before the internet thats how it was done,and thats the way it should still be done
