  1. Seems odd you can't get below 2.4. My 40 will go slower all day than that. Weird. I was never a fan of trolling plates, but I know lots that are. S.
  2. My favourite band just released a new single. New album in May! Woo
  3. I have a similar vintage Mariner 40hp. Its bullet proof. I am considering selling it, but just can't seem to bring myself to get rid of it lol.....its been sitting in my garage for 2 seasons now. I fire it up every once in a while. 5 pulls from a cold start every time, then one pull after that. S.
  4. Standard start up idle speed is about 2.3 ish. Top speed off the troll control is about 2.8 or so, min speed about 1.8. This is on flat water, no wind, on a 16ft wide starcraft tiller. If I need to go slower, and go with the wind, i will use my main, but turn my bowmount around backwards so my main is pushing against it. My main just over idle, and my electric barely on will stop me pretty much. S.
  5. This is a result of not using it enough. If roads are even wet, I put mine in 4x4. Its not hurting anything. Use it, or lose it. Sorry, no help with the issue lol S.
  6. I only have a 40 tiller yammy, but the troll control gets me down to 1.6 on flat calm water. I can get it much slower if theres some wind. I run my bowmount if I'm trolling the the main, just to maintain course and speed. The ipilot is great for that. S.
  7. You will like it, but I just can't get used to the hand controlled remote. I like the footpedal. I have a brand new 55lb PD with Ipilot I may sell so I can upgrade to the terrova. The Pd models don't have the option of using the foot pedal AND remote, its one or the other, and the PD footpedal doesn't have the Ipilot features. S.
  8. Moonshine is easier and more effective 😂
  9. Awesome! Will you adopt me? 😁
  10. Looks like Grandpa lost it LOL....a bit of excitement though hey?
  11. Beauty! It will haul some material!!
  12. No, just off shore in the rocks. S.
  13. We were fishing 25ft. I don't go deeper than 40ft anymore for anything in that lake. Lost a laker monday, but they have been kind of scarce for us. S.
  14. Sweet. The VK has a much heavier clutch than the Venture, and the low gear is nothing but torque. We have SXS at work with tracks, and you're right, it will haul anything, anywhere. Make sure you get power steering, they are hard to turn without, and also close in the cab, ours is a very, very cold ride compared to a sled. I only use it if I have to, usually to rescue one of our trail grooming snowmobiles. Its a beast though, and gets the job done every time. S.
  15. Nice. You still running the same venture? How many miles on it now? I just got a VK Pro. What a beast compared to the venture. Still have my venture too, no issues with it whatsoever. around 12K on it now. Winter is a great time to haul material. Get er done! S.
  16. Cute little buggers eh? I love owls. S.
  17. You should make some wire worms. Whities chow them down. I've never tried them on simcoe, just don't have to, they are the dumbest fish in the province LOL.....perch love em too. Lori and I had our 4 whities in 12 mins on tuesday last week. Fished 1130-2 and put 10 or so on the ice. Slept in, and got home for dinner. Great day. Headed out again tomorrow. S.
  18. So, where did the splake come from? They haven't been stocked in there for decades. Its a laker boys. A young one. S.
  19. My wife prefers the fishing gear.
  20. Oh I agree, I am a die hard yammy guy, no question. I have a 2019 yammy on my boat, 2 yamaha sleds, and a 1993 40hp yammy sitting in my garage that runs now as good as the day I bought it with thousands, and thousands of hours on it. They don't need to change anything in their outboard motor game IMO, but their sleds could use a few things to make them a bit nicer to ride, although I'd never buy another brand the way they are. Thier ATV/SxS game could also be stepped up a notch. They have the reliability game cornered, but no new innovations for a loooooong time. They are due for something. S.
  21. Beleive me, I've caught tons of lakers, and specks. TONS. Why do you think thats a speck? It doesn't even have a square tail. No spots, no halos, no black mouth. I'm not arguing, just find it weird that everyone says speck, when its nothing like a speck to me. S.
  22. Ok, so what speck features do you see? I see a lot more laker than speck. I don't see any speck at all. No square tail, no red spots, no blue halos, no black mouth.....?? Looks like a stocked laker thats been in a pen for a while and rounded off its tail to me. S.
  23. Sorry, not directed at you, personally....lol.
