It can't rattle out when its wrapped all the way around. I put it on before it goes in the reciever. There's no way its coming out. Over the top, around the back and out the bottom. Sinker

I stick a piece of the metal banding that you get off lifts of lumber in there. That rattle drives me nuts. They all do it a little though..... Sinker

I have a 40 horse Gerritt, on a 16 ft aluminum similar to yours, and I've never used one. I trailer my boat with the engine tilted up all the way too........ My whole rig is a 96.......and its been trailered all over the place.....no issues. Sinker

The pec fins have the same spike as the dorsal. Just grab them by the bottom lip.......don't be surprised when they bite down and won't let go , that's normal...

Sorry to hear that man! I'm sure the community will pull together, and you'll all get through it. Can you get the sand and bags?

Re read my post, I didnt' say you put anyone on the spot FOR TRESSPASSING. When you mention someones name in a post, its usually putting them on the spot.....no? Why did you post your report in the first place?
-
One thing that will come in handy is a few screw in wire clips ( not sure what the real name is) Just keeps everything neat. Other than that, its pretty straight forward. Sinker

Regardless of whether your wrong on the location or not, if its posted no tresspassing, let the authorities deal with it. Nobody needs a heads up about an area that's posted no tresspassing! If its not posted, then there is nothing stopping anyone from going in there......all they can get is kicked off the property. If they choose not to leave, then they will be charged...... Who are you to put anyone on the spot, or give a heads up about tresspassing? Sinker
-
i usually buy them in two's or 3's, one gets put in the box out of the package....the others stay in the pack until I lose the first one. Sinker

Pretty cool stuff Poppy!! Now its your turn to spoil them rotten, and fill them with sugar......just as their leaving your place.....haha. Sinker

What kind of structure are we talking here? Could be a doghouse for all we know...... what are you talking about when you say the footings gave out? Sounds like something built on blocks....... I'm assuming its something fairly big if it took you a week to build it? Need more details. In the long run, its better to do things right the first time around, even if it costs double......this is a perfect example. I don't take jobs if they're looking for trouble by doing things on the cheap. If its something worth doing, do it right the first time. If it was something I did that caused it to blow down, I'd rebuild it no questions asked. If it was the owners idea to do it half assed, and you suggested doing it right.....I'd send the bill. I always say one good job will get you another, one bad job will lose 10. Word of mouth is very powerful in trades. Sinker

This rain will bring the flow up, but it could also bring the water temp up a tad. A degree or two can make all the difference. I'd say its more temp related than flow related though, the fish know where to go to get out of the current. Keep us posted on your findings. If I had more time I'd be involved in the program as well. Sinker

Qick question - should have asked the CO's and Forgot

Just imagine if someone was shooting back at him/her!!! This blows my mind. I'm not surprised though....... You can shoot the biggest gun you can handle, but its not gonna do squat if you can't put the bullet in the right spot!! -
Sounds like the making of a little M&G guys! I'll be there for pickeral opener for sure. Then hit simcoe a few times for the whities and lakers, and then I'll be at the marina for the rest of the summer......well, mostly. If your headed up there, shoot me a pm, I'll give you an up to date report on where/what's been working for me. Sinker

Your municipality would like to hear from you if your at risk of flooding. If nobody says anything, they won't do anything. Are there others in your area that are in the same situation as you are? If they're holding back water to do work on a dam, I'd be asking lots of questions. This is the wrong time of year to be working on dams!!! Unless of course it was damaged by high flows. There's gonna be some big problems this weekend with flooding. I feel for ya man, its gotta suck watching that water rise like that!! And your right, there isn't a thing you can do, even pumping won't help you.....if the water reaches the right elevation, your flooded............... all you can do is move your things and try to keep them on higher ground. There is over 400 cubic meters per second going thru the locks in bobcaygen as of yesterday......that's a huge volume of water, and its only going to go up. The Otonobee river is only getting 360 cm/s.......We're expecting 25mm of rain in the next 2 days, and there is still lots of snow in the bush to melt. Those are some HUGE flows. I've been working on the east tribs this week, and the temps are between 3-5 degrees C, I'm not sure what the preferred temp is for eyes, but that's much colder than normal for this time of the year for those tribs. The males are making redds in some of the tribs, but overall, its later than normal. The only problem with this high water in the Trent Severn, is the fish will spawn, then the water will drop, and the eggs could be left out of water. Its happened before......it could happen again this year. Higher water levels overall are a good thing, lets just hope it doesn't mess up the pickeral spawn! What lock were the fish seen in? Maybe there is a reason they are there, and not anywhere else? Less water maybe? Sinker

Do you have a net?

I have used seafoam, and it is great stuff. I also use Mercury Power Tuner once in a while for a quick fix. Its pretty good too, but I like the seafoam better. I just mix the seafoam in a gallon of gas and let er rip until its gone. The power tuner you spray in the intake until the motor stalls, let it sit for a half hour, then take er for a rip at WOT until the smoke clears. Both work great. The super tuner is available at any mercury dealer. I find its easier to get than the seafoam. Sinker

I dock my boat on Sturgeon, and fish it a lot, for years. I have fished all the spots mentioned above, but I stick to the southern end of the lake and do great on eyes and musky. I don't target bass at all. I find if I stick to water I know, I do very well. If I start to tour around fishing other areas, my success goes down. Goose bay area up to sturgeon point is all the water I need to fish. Black/orange spinner baits for musky, and white or yellow 3" berkley power grubs on a 1/4 oz head is really all you need. If you'd like any more info, let me know. I'm very familiar with the lake. Sinker

Your local consevation authority should have sandbags if you need them, and the municipality should supply you with sand to fill them. I'd be making some calls in the morning. We're gonna get some substantial rain in the next few days. If they keep holding back water, your screwed. I'm not sure who controls the dams there......C.A or Trent severn? One sump pump isn't gonna do squat. I'd go get another one for sure. That's a pretty big risk to be taking. I just had mine quit yesterday, and in a matter of hours I had about an inch of water in half of my basement. I had a spare, but it doesn't help me if I'm not here to turn it on. I've been looking at the 12V back ups, but they don't fit the budget right now..... If I was in that situation, I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight!!! Sinker

Is that "normal" for this time of year there? That's a lot of water!!

Um.....where is your console right now? I thought so.......hahahahahahahahaha Sinker

I like my mariner. Its a cross between a yamaha and a merc. Great engine, takes a beating from ice out till ice up every year. Sinker

As long as the officer knew where and how to place the shot, the 9mm is more than enough. If it was me and I saw the deer still kicking on the side of the road, I'd finish it off one way or another. I've had to do it twice already, and I've never hit a deer......with a vehicle. Its hard to blame the people for not stopping. Maybe they did call on a cell phone. Maybe they didn't know they hit the deer.....I've seen that happen too. Or, maybe they just didn't know better......there are lots of people who just wouldn't have the slightest idea what to do..... You can't make assumptions in any situation...... Sinker
