  1. Nice report! I seem to run into that quite a bit on rice lake for some reason. Maybe that's why I only fish there once or twice a season.......and I live 15 mins from Bewdley!! Sinker
  2. Nice report fellas. I notice your using some big jigheads. I'm just wondering why so heavy? I jig up a lot of eyes from the kawartha's, and my method is to go as light as I can for the conditions.....but I don't even own a jighead that heavy? Looks like you's had a fun day! Sinker
  3. You guys had a stellar day. That rap mike is using looks sweet too...... Looks like you got off the water just in time!! We got on the water, just after that stopped! It was good fishing to day!! Sinker
  4. I'm with you on this one Rich. I will guarantee there are more people fishing the kawartha's for any thing but carp, than there are carp fisherman. I've spent the last 20 years on those lakes. Sure, there are more carp anglers now than ever before, but to say that carp fishing brings in more anglers/money than other types of fish is a little far fetched IMO. Sinker
  5. Call me uncoordinated all ya want Glen... ....I'll still throw as many, if not more casts in a day than most!! Its whatever your used to.......I'm used to casting and reeling with my right hand. I switch every time, while in mid cast......I don't even know it happens. Come on up and we'll count how many we can do in a day........I'll keep up, I promise Sinker
  6. WTG!! Im sooooooo jealous!! Sinker
  7. Did you try the spray nine? That stuff works good bud! Sinker
  8. Yup, your fine Cliff. Mine is the same way. Kind of off to the side a little. I did what Gary said, and kept it so the head of the motor is still inside the boat. I still have lots of room for the light, and my bow cleat on the deck. Get that baby mounted and we should go try it out Sinker
  9. Where are all these kawartha carp fisherman hanging out? I'm on the water twice a week at least, and I can't say I've seen any carp fishermen? I do see lots of american boats on the water though.....HMMM Must be a secret spot that I don't know about? Sinker
  10. its never a waste of time if your fishing!!! The weather just adds to the adventure. This weather is unpredictble.....I bet it only rains in short bursts between sunshine all day!! Sinker
  11. P line fluoro clear.......its a copolymer, coated in fluoro......I love it. Sinker
  12. I caught a 9" crappie on a musky spinner bait last week....I dont' know what it was thinking? Also been getting lots of eyes on musky baits this season so far......they'll eat anything it seems. Sinker
  13. Mine is bare bones too. Just a floor, and one bench seat in the front.......all the rest is wide open. Gas tank and batteries in the back.....on either side. Its light and very responsive with the 40 on it.......my engine is lighter and has more power than a 30 4 stroke though, so its hard to compare them. Your gonna have fun regardless What was on it before? Sinker
  14. Don't forget spinnerbaits! Pokerdemon is totally addicted to buying musky baits.........its an illness with no cure for that poor guy...LOL. I haven't caught a thing on bulldawgs either....whats the deal with them anyways?? Sinker
  15. I'd expect you to be all teeth as you rip up the lake with your new tiller You'll prolly run 25-30mph with a 30. My 40 2 stroke does around 30 on a 16fter. Sinker
  16. Agreed! I'd agree with it being introduced from pet fish that were released to the lake. Then spread during the spawn. I have an uncle who had an impressive koi pond, last spring they all died too......same thing as the carp die off.....he lost about $20,000 worth of fish, and 15 years of work raising them. Sinker
  17. Nice haul on the eyes!! Sinker
  18. It moved downstream in the kawartha's last year. Started in scugog....then sturg, to the tri lakes.....etc..... I see carp every time I'm at the lake still. My marina has quite a few, but I will say less than previous years. Still more than enough IMO. Sinker

  20. That's the first thing I though too.....LOL. What a beast of a fish!! Thanks for posting that!! Sinker
  21. I haven't seen any ill effects in the kawartha's so far from last years carp die off..... I still see lots of carp. And no drop in any other fish species. As a matter of fact, I'd say the fish this season are much healthier than any passed season. The carp need to be thinned out a little.....its good for the ecosystem. There is no way they will all be eradicated......there is just too many of them. It seemed to me like it only effected the adults anyways..... Sinker
  22. If your gonna use wood and need a hand, let me know. That's my specialty Sinker
  23. I've got a 55lb power drive on a 16 fter, and its fine. I can fish all day and then some on one battery......and more than enough power. If its that windy, you don't want to be out in it anyways. Sinker
  24. Everyone pass out already? Geeze....I just got in from fishin I'll be in there if anyone is up for some late night chat....
  25. Trust me, you want a tiller Sinker
