  1. That bug came thru our house over the christmas holiday. Nasty is an understatment. It hit so fast, my daughter didnt make it.........I was on clean up. Next day of course, I was sick as a dog. I thought I was going to die.......honestly.....it was bad. Glad to hear your on the mend Cliff...... Sinker
  2. slimy grimy will remove anything from your hull. I keep my boat in the water most of the season. I get a bit of staining, but it always comes off. Keep your engine out of the water though, mine seems to be pitting a little bit on the lower unit. I haven't tried to get it off yet though. Sinker
  3. I have a buddy going there the last week of Feb. I'll let ya know how he makes out. Have you ever been before? Any tips to offer? Sinker
  4. Here we are again......another tuesday......I"m in there.
  5. Thanks, will do. I'm not sure I'd trust readings from a fish tank. I know mine doesn't mark right until I'm 3-4 ft deep. All I get is surface clutter. What are you using for a battery? Sinker
  6. You need a lot more warm weather and rain to do much damage to the ice on scugog. It will be wet, but plenty safe. Just watch out for any old holes where the water has been running down, they will be much bigger than normal. Bring your rubber boots! Sinker
  7. I'm going to lowrance tomorrow. I'm sick of waiting for a new transducer. Its been 3 weeks!! How much did they charge you? Sinker
  8. Those are true wild speckle trout. The rock is full of them. You won't catch anything else in fresh water that is wild. Sinker
  9. Nice report Rickster! I bet the kids had a blast!! Sinker
  10. Lots of jobs in the environmental field. I graduated from environmental technology at fleming last april, and started a full time permanent position with a local conservation authority right out of school. No info on that school though. I'd go for it. The environmental programs cover such a broad area, it can lead to many fields. Sinker
  11. Condolences to you and yours Ron. Sinker
  12. You got that report done yet?
  13. Won't even touch the ice. The snow will all melt though, then when it freezes, we'll have TONS of hard, smooth ice. Bring your rubbers!! Its gonna be wet!!! Sinker
  14. Your such a tease man!!!!! Get a full report going!!!!!! Sinker
  15. man, I gotta get me some of that!!! Sinker
  16. Spoiled rotten.........I'm jealous Congrats on the PB! Sinker
  17. Last saturday in April is season opener. Sinker
  18. After my trip last week, I want to go back for more!! Soooooo tasty!!!!!!! Great report! Sinker
  19. I do the same thing, but with an x-97/500c. Sounds like your transducer is messed up. Switch them and see what happens. I've had a new one for mine on order for 3 weeks now, still waiting. Sinker
  20. I get the guy at my local tackle shop to get them for me. He can get anything! Kawartha Lakes Bait and Tackle I got $10 worth from him, and its nice little bag full. Takes 2 seconds to change them. The worm gear is the bar that the pawl runs back and forth across. AFter a while, they will wear out too. Keep that part of the reel clean and well oiled. I take it off and run a sfety pin thru the gears.......you'd be surprised how much crap comes outta there. Sinker
  21. I have a bass that eats shrimp pellets. It'll eat anything though....... Sinker
  22. Fish also swim under the ice!!! Drill a hole!!!!!! Sinker
  23. The shot at 2:50 is friggen awesome!!! I could just imagine the look on that guys face when that fish came flying out of the water like that!!! WOW Sinker
  24. I'll bet that they don't even blow out next week with the rain they're calling for. First of all, the weather guys are always wrong, and it prolly won't even rain. Second of all, if it does get mild with rain, it will prolly flow ON TOP of the ice thats there now. There is about a foot of ice on those tribs.........not easy to bust that stuff up in one thaw!! Any takers?? Sinker
  25. Yep, jiffy model 30 with the 8" bit will pull you right down the hole! All you need is new blades on your fin-bore though......about $50. You have to take extra special care of those blades. The slightest little bump, even hitting a weed in the ice, will wreck them. Cut your holes properly, and put the guard back on the blades. If its really cold and ice is built up around the blades, I'll lean the auger up on something........OUT OF THE WAY.....with the blades in the sun. Usually, that's enough to clear them off. DO NOT attempt to chip the ice off. Not only will you lose a finger, but you can damage the blades, and they won't cut!! They're touchy, but if you take care of them, you can get a couple seasons out of them.........depending how much you ice fish. I change mine every season once we have a foot of ice. Sinker
