  1. I see them all the time in the day, during the winter. I think they get up in the trees around 11am, and hang out until around 3pm, when the sun is at its highest. Once it starts getting cooler, they get down. Keep the .22 loaded and ready, you never know when he'll poke his head out! S.
  2. I have had reels freeze lots of times. It happens. Those cheap plastic skimmers suck too, get a metal one and your good to go. Keep your reel out of the slush/snow around your hole. S.
  3. I'm with Roy. Keep the tiller, you need all that console space to haul decoys S.
  4. Same here. S.
  5. I fished big bay yesterday. I put 3 on the ice between 12pm-dark. Lots of perch too. The little buggers stole my bait and we ran out of minnows. Get lots of bait, you`ll need it. Plenty of ice. About 8inches where we were. There are two bait shops north of the 401. One is quinte outdoor sports, on 62 North, the other is protackle on 37 north. Protackle is open 5am-5pm, quinte outdoors is no good if you want bait early, they open later, not sure what time. S.
  6. Light a fire on his rock pile, and blast him when he comes out. S.
  7. Wow, crazy stuff Dano!! Good luck, and get well soon!!
  8. I don't know how you call a local, running a sled into open water, in a known bad spot, an accident. The guy pushed his luck, and it ran out. End of story. I feel bad for the rest of his family, but him, not so much!!! S.
  9. I've been calling it ONFN for a long time now. Ontario NON fishing network. Doesn't bother me at all though, I kinda like the non fishing posts. I think that's why I come here. It sure isn't for reports about fishing, most of them I don't even read LOL. I don't post them up either, but if someone is asking for info on a place I know about, or have fished recently, I'm always willing to help! S.
  10. Don't let me catch you sitting in a parking lot eating in that new van!! I might have to call the cops
  11. The year before last, I caught and released more lakers than I've caught in simcoe my whole life. A lot of them were naturals. Last ice season, I didn't catch a single trout thru the ice. Lots of natural whities though. Weird. S.
  12. I had no idea you even fished Brian! I thought you just liked posting jokes, food, and music? Nice to get out aye bye? S.
  13. I measured, with a tape, 5.5" in big bay today. I wouldn't be touring around out there on a machine towing a hut just yet. I walked... S.
  14. Glad your OK Chuck. Many others with A LOT less experience could have had a much worse fate! S.
  15. Full meal deal for me no matter what!!
  16. You can adopt me anytime Cliff. As a matter of fact, I'm looking for a waterfront rental apartment right now. Seriously. Hell, I'm up there every week a couple times anyways. Seriously, if your looking for someone to hang out with and share part of the work of fishing/hunting, just let me know!! I have all my own gear too S.
  17. I find the lcd screen is way better than the flasher mode anyways. I always have. I can't seem to get used to any kind of flasher. I like my graph. As long as you know how to set it up, they work just as good, and sometime better...........not always though!! S.
  18. I disagree with the lead comment. I think there are many, many more important factors dealing with waterfowl, with a much worse impact, than a few lead pellets in thier gizzards.(invasives, predators, oil spills etc.) Thats a whole new topic though, so I'll leave it at that! You can't beat hunting late season divers over a spread of hand made blocks though, that I will agree on!! We'll have to hook up next season for a shoot! Good luck getting your info, the guy in the link knows his stuff! S.
  19. In my experience, they will all do that in time. I've had an eskimo, and two clams that have both ended up like that. No big deal, they don't leak rain, and still block the wind. I can see your point about blacking out the hut though.......... S.
  20. I run a turbo engine, so always burn premium fuel. I notice a big difference between fuel with ethanol and fuel without it. I burn Shell V-power whenever possible (no ethanol, yet), and my mileage is increased substantially. Ethanol fuel I get around 400km/60 L, V-power I'm getting almost 500km consistently......even city driving. The worste is the ultra 94 from sunoco, that stuff is garbage!! Anyone here adding anything to a turbo to increase mileage?? I'd love to hear about it. S.
  21. 1 oz./5 gallons isnt much oil in the gas. I don't think it would be enough to do any harm at all. I'm not sure I get the point of adding it though, so I wouldn't do it. I have always burnt my un-used mixed gas in my vehicles though. Never had a problem. This is with a 50:1 mix to boot. S.
  22. I don't know how guys can charge money for work like that!! I would be so ashamed if I installed that. What a joke!! Good luck with the rest of the project. I think your going to need it!! S.
  23. Nice blocks Phil!! You ever gun over them?? They need to be hunted!!!!! Have you asked this guy? http://www.decoyinfo.com/ S.
  24. Great story Ron! I'm not surprised one bit by the helpful newfie!! The best people on the planet come from that little rock in the atlantic!!! Good luck with the rest of the storm!! S.
  25. This is a REAL good idea if you don't know what your doing!!!! Chainsaws bite once, and its game over!! If you are available on weekdays, get in touch, I'm pretty handy with a saw, and I'll give you a REALLY good deal! S.
