I bought some sewing elastics and some of those push in buttons for laces and I make my own. I spent $5.00 of material at Walmart and made myself 15 of them.

haha I used mine to find that weeds had growned around the intake of my waterpump in my shallow well. Then used my anchor to yank the weeds out. But for fishing I used it a couple of times. It's too much of a hassle.

I was contacted by somebody with a similar story. He said that he will pay my paypal account and he will get his buddy to drop in and pickup what he had bought. I told him "How about you send the money to his paypals account and then he can cash it and hand me cash when he comes and picks it up." Never heard from hom again.

Which fishing year would you consider to be your very best?

Me it was Winter 2007. I icefished 243 hours that winter. I went every Sat. and Sunday from 5:00am to 9:pm. Took some days off during the week also. Now with fibromyalgia I icefish 2-3 hours and I am bushed, got to go home. -
Dodge or Ford ????? I have upgraded from an FL-8, to an FL-18 and now to an FL-22. now all I need is ice. Once I tried a Flasher there was no turning back. I also have my forward LCD fishfinder in my boat set to flasher mode.

I found my Dad's first snowmobile a 1966 Bombardier this August, I talke dwith the son of the man that owned it for about 40 years and he told me that his Dad had restored it 12 years ago. And he had sold it 3 years ago to a childhood friend. I got into contact with that friend and after a few converstions he decided that he would sell it to me. He had told me that one his buddy that owns the Antique Snowmobile Museum in Cochrane, Ontario wanted to do something with it. But my friend told that he is very Computer illetarate. Another one of my friends from the same town told me that he had seen him drive that snowmobile almost every weekend at the lake and that the sled was in very good shape. And becasue of this I never asked the owner to send me some pictures. So about 3 weeks ago I drove 800 km to go pick up my new(to me)snowmobile. Got there and started shooting the S**T with my buddy. He started showing me around his place and every time we entered one of his garages I would look around to see if I could finally spot my Dad's sled. Finally I spot a nice old sled and I start walking towards it, he shows it to me and all I could think is that " this isn't my dad's sled " But then he tells me that this is his 1968 Bombardier and that hes has been driving it every weekend at the lake for about 3-4 years(see story above) Then he says "let's go see your sled" So we get behind one of his garages and all of a sudden he stops and grabs the end of a tarp. He starts pulling it up and I almost puked because of the sad shape that the sled was in. I quickly figured out that the previous owners son's idea of a restored sled was quite a bit different from my idea of a restored one. I am not too mechanically inclined(I am more electronically inclined but not much of that on this sled) plus I do not have any of metal working machines ( welders, ect..) And i do not even have a garage at the moment. This job was way over my head but reluctantly I put it in the back of my pickup telling myself that I will figure something out. That night after really thinking about it I called the guy back and see if he wanted back and he said yes. So I actually owned the same sled as my Dad for about 12 hours. Moral of this long story is "Be careful of what you want, cause it might break your heart"

Not that it's going to happen here but, after we had to admit my Dad to the hospital (alzheimers) my Mom got a phone call from my Dad's brother who owned a business, he asked my Mom to go and see him that they had to talk. Well it turns out that my Dad had given over $30,000.00 to my uncle so that he could put it in his safe at the store. My Dad was the money handler at home. So if my uncle hadn't said anything to my mom at that time my Mom would've not known anything about it. Cause my Uncle passed away just a few months after that. My Dad had given that money to my Uncle 10 years before.

Fishlogic laid it all on the line for you. What I usually do is set up a tipup for pike then I jig for panfish.

Nice pumped up neck on that bruiser. Congrats.

Congrats Jacques, nothing like a tenderloin and liver snack. Sure makes all that hardwork worthwhile. I had a story similar to that 6 years ago and the first thing that I did when I got to the truck all sweaty and totally exhausted was light up a cigarette. I loooked at the cigarette and said that there was something wrong with this. And decided right there and then that I was done with smoking, and I am still off of them. -
Ice Fishing is just around the corner.......

You can buy the tubes that golfers use in their golf bags to separate all their golf clubs. I use those to put my rods in to protect them then you can make yourself a box for them. -
No common wall.

The Electronic gizmos are only good for 1 or 2 years The expiry date should be on them. Then you have to replace them. I like the regular traps using peanut butter as bait.
-
It's not because Non-fishing posts would be in a different section that you won't have any bickering.

I agree with the Citica. I have a few of those along with Curados and I love them.

My boat is lighter than yours and I have always been iffy about the Escape's brakes. I replaced my Escape so I do not have that problem anymore. I have a Princecraft Pro165 with a 75-4stroke. Any heavier and I would've added brakes on the trailer.

Marine Stabil and use it next year.

any deep fried turkey recipe's out there
wallyboss replied to ecmilley's topic in General Discussion
You will never eat oven cooked turkey again. Make sure to let sit a good 15 minutes after taking it out of oil, that helps distribute the juices properly. -
You can never have too many rods and reels. The 2 Shimano reels do not have instant anti-reverse?? I have a few like that and they are on my spare rods that I lend to people. Free is always nice

Like some said. All you need is a cold morning and knock it off the house with a pole. A propane torch is handy when it falls The flames burns their wings and they drop instantly. I used to be the crazy guy at work who would get rid of all the nests.
