  1. I'll be happy as long as the weather co-operates till the end of Nov. Here a beauty from Sun. Misfish, where have you been?
  2. Beautiful fish! Well done & as a bonus you got to do it with your grandpa, doesn't get much better than that! Wil's correct, once those fish are in the livewell for any period of time they need to be fizzed. Anyone who is catching Smallies out there should know how to fizz a fish! I catch all kinds of them that have either been fizzed at a tournament or by some other angler! Cheers, Dave
  3. Been booked with a fair amount of guide trips this fall & have the fish ever been co-operating! Mizmo tubes, Strike Slammers, Nories Jaka Blades, Gulp Minnows & Lucky Crafts have all been producing great! They're setting up in their wintering grounds & chowing down! Here are some pics from Simcoe & Erie! Hopefully the weather will remain bearable! Here are some beasts which were all released to fight another day! Cool thing is one day I caught 2 fish that were tagged in tournaments, including one that was released 2 years ago and was caught & released by a client of mine last fall. The other one that I caught was released in Orillia in July and it made its way down in Simcoe! Catch & release works!!!!! Cheers, Dave
  4. You're bang on, Bigugli! Most states that have a year round bass fishery have stocking programs and even then their fisheries are brutal compared to ours! We are blessed to have some of the best bass fishing in the world and it is totally dependent on natural reproduction! As much as I love to fish bass, I'll wait till the season is open! Dave
  5. Nice job! Hoping to get out there this week! Cheers, Dave
  6. Congratulations!!!! The best bass boat & the best motor made. You'll love it!!!! Good luck this up-coming season! Cheers, Dave
  7. Some beautiful fish! Would love to get some of those next year! Dave
  8. Wow, nice fish! Not easy to get on them on Simcoe! Congrats! Dave
  9. That's a gorgeous speck! But trekking around like that would probably kill me! Nice report! Dave
  10. Nice Perch! Tasty too, I bet!
  11. Nice job! Keep up the good work! How did that Bowfin taste anyway? Shore fishing is challenging and relaxing at the same time! Cheers, Dave
  12. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with head office! Lucky Crafts are top quality lures which are usually bang on! Patrick, please check your PM's hopefully I can find a solution for you! Cheers, Dave
  13. Been using them for a number of years now! Pretty happy with them, easily adjustable and readily removable. Dave
  14. Great report, Mike! Nice meeting you today! Remember... SET HARD! SET OFTEN! Dave
  15. Having been an aquarium hobbyist for most of my life and for a good part of it dealing with marine creatures, I think that the folks at BPS and Chris do a great job looking after those fish. The filtration system, chillers and other equipment used in the operation of the tank are all top notch! It rates right up there with systems that I have seen at many world class aquariums. The water is kept with tolerable ranges for all the fish that inhabit the BPS tank! The fish in there certainly eat like they're healthy. Roger, great investigative reporting! Keep up the good work! Cheers, Dave
  16. I've had great success with Gulp and the newer Gulp Alive! Even when doing seminars at BPS, I know that is I use Gulp that I will get bit in their tank, now if I can only convince them to allow me to use hooks... Cheers, Dave
  17. I can't speak for other shows but in all the footage that I shot with Extreme Angler and watched being shot with other members there was never any staging. All the fish that were video-taped were caught as is. Also the majority of the shows were shot on local waters where everybody fishes, although some people won't be happy with that either! Cheers, Dave
  18. Hey Marcers75, I am the president of the CBAF Bass Pro Shops chapter! Feel free to drop in on Tues. April 1 and check it out! We have the "Bass Doctor" in the house, Charles Stuart who will do his best to educate our members about the virtues of the "Shakey Head Jig" Unfortunately I will be at a speaking engagement at another club but our members will give you a warm welcome! Cheers, Dave
  19. I see that my little buddy Bradley was on them hard again! I wish that I was out with you guys but then Trevor would probably steal my fish! Glad to see that you had a good time Mark, now get back to work and get pouring!!!!! Cheers, Dave
  20. That's a great finish for Bob! Keep up the good work! wish we were there with you. Cheers, Dave
  21. Nice haul! There is no shortage of ice! We were out on Thurs. and got into some pretty decnt perch! They seemed to be moving quite a bit! Cheers, Dave
  22. I used a couple of the Daiwa Advantage HSTA's last year and loved them. They definitely feel like they're worth more then they sell for! Haven't had a chance to try the Tierra baitcaster, so I can't speak for it, But I did use a bunch of Tierra spinning reels last year and they were super for the money! Cheers, Dave
  23. Boy, you're right when you say it was busy! It was very nice to meet Lew & speak with him for a short while. Of course, always a pleasure to see Roger(BPSBASSMAN)! Some great deals if you looked for them! Look forward to meeting more OFNer's in the future! Cheers, Dave
  24. Unbelievable! We were heading back from Winchester near Ottawa after completing a Bass Talk seminar session and it was brutal! There were cars, trucks, vans and transport trailers spewed all over the 401 & it's ditches. At Kingston they even pulled the plows off the roads and we saw why shortly as there was one in the ditch! Still with these conditions there were rigs just blowing our doors off going at 100-110kmp when we were barely doing 60kpm. Even the jack-knifed & rolled over rigs didn't deter these morons! We eventually pulled the chute in Belleville and grabbed a motel room as it had already taken us 4.5 hours to get that far! Hopefully this is the last of the big storms... Dave
