Nice Perch! Tasty too, I bet!

Nice job! Keep up the good work! How did that Bowfin taste anyway? Shore fishing is challenging and relaxing at the same time! Cheers, Dave

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with head office! Lucky Crafts are top quality lures which are usually bang on! Patrick, please check your PM's hopefully I can find a solution for you! Cheers, Dave

Been using them for a number of years now! Pretty happy with them, easily adjustable and readily removable. Dave

Having been an aquarium hobbyist for most of my life and for a good part of it dealing with marine creatures, I think that the folks at BPS and Chris do a great job looking after those fish. The filtration system, chillers and other equipment used in the operation of the tank are all top notch! It rates right up there with systems that I have seen at many world class aquariums. The water is kept with tolerable ranges for all the fish that inhabit the BPS tank! The fish in there certainly eat like they're healthy. Roger, great investigative reporting! Keep up the good work! Cheers, Dave

I've had great success with Gulp and the newer Gulp Alive! Even when doing seminars at BPS, I know that is I use Gulp that I will get bit in their tank, now if I can only convince them to allow me to use hooks... Cheers, Dave

I can't speak for other shows but in all the footage that I shot with Extreme Angler and watched being shot with other members there was never any staging. All the fish that were video-taped were caught as is. Also the majority of the shows were shot on local waters where everybody fishes, although some people won't be happy with that either! Cheers, Dave

Baitcaster: Daiwa Tierra vs Quantum Energy PT
David Chong replied to Victor's topic in General Discussion
I used a couple of the Daiwa Advantage HSTA's last year and loved them. They definitely feel like they're worth more then they sell for! Haven't had a chance to try the Tierra baitcaster, so I can't speak for it, But I did use a bunch of Tierra spinning reels last year and they were super for the money! Cheers, Dave -
Last Day Of BPS Spring Classic Sale !!!
David Chong replied to fishindevil's topic in General Discussion
Boy, you're right when you say it was busy! It was very nice to meet Lew & speak with him for a short while. Of course, always a pleasure to see Roger(BPSBASSMAN)! Some great deals if you looked for them! Look forward to meeting more OFNer's in the future! Cheers, Dave -
Unbelievable! We were heading back from Winchester near Ottawa after completing a Bass Talk seminar session and it was brutal! There were cars, trucks, vans and transport trailers spewed all over the 401 & it's ditches. At Kingston they even pulled the plows off the roads and we saw why shortly as there was one in the ditch! Still with these conditions there were rigs just blowing our doors off going at 100-110kmp when we were barely doing 60kpm. Even the jack-knifed & rolled over rigs didn't deter these morons! We eventually pulled the chute in Belleville and grabbed a motel room as it had already taken us 4.5 hours to get that far! Hopefully this is the last of the big storms... Dave

Bass Marley, if you happen to accidentally catch a bass out of season while legally pursuing another species that is in season then you just release it quickly and you're fine. If you happen upon an area where there are all kinds of spawning bass then you are best to leave because targeting bass out of season is kind of a discretionary call on the CO's part. In other words if you happen to catch one and let it go no problem but if you catch several and stay then a CO may interpret that as targeting bass out of season. Now if you go to New York, they do have a year long C&R season for bass now! Hope that this clear! Cheers, Dave

Braided Line and Fluorocarbon Leaders
David Chong replied to Fishnwire's topic in General Discussion
It depends also on what presentation that you are using whether you should have a fluoro-carbon leader or not. Slower finesse presentation in gin-clear water is definitely a situation for it. As for the Fireline, it is more sensitive, thinner, better on hook sets and cast further. You also shouldn't be filling up your whole spool with Fireline, put a mono backing on and then about 50-75 yds. of Fireline. It also last longer than mono, it doesn't deteriorate as quickly. Fluoro-carbon is also super tough as a leader, it is very abbrasion-resistant. For all you Stealth lovers out there, you have the SpiderWire UltraCast. I started using it last year and I was blown away by how much better it was than Stealth. And I love the Stealth, mind you the Ultracast is more expensive. I'm looking forward to trying the Invisa-Braid in the Ultra-Cast this year. Cheers, Dave -
Hi Pam, How have you been keeping? A 40/50HP 4 stroke should be able to troll down no problem. You really don't want to under-power your boat too much. Of course I would recommend a Yamaha Cheers, Dave

I have collected and delivered fish to BPS. I was required to have a special permit from the MNR in order to do this. BPS applied for it for us. Cheers, Dave

Sorry, Brkygetr I know that this won't help you in Fort Frances but Headhunter, if you're looking for someone who really knows GM/Chevy trucks contact Charles Ho. He has a little shop called C.H. Motor in the Midland & Finch area. He looks after my Avalanche, knows his stuff and is very reasonable. A honest fair mechanic go figure! His number is 416-291-3095 tell him that I sent you! Cheers, Dave
