  1. WOW!! Nice work Chris!! Very cool!!
  2. SWEET!!
  3. So true Roy, been picking away at this report and finally had a chance tonight to go through it. Just a stellar report Mike. My bucket list keeps growing every time I read one of your reports. I should have it all done in another 50 years if you don't add anything to it. lol!!
  4. Looks like a great time on Temagami was had by all. That pike was a brute and a shame it didn't make it but what can you do. You did every you could by the sounds of it and who would have guessed it would have hit twice. Great to see Jen's walk of fame and conquering the fire tower, looking forward to seeing her do it again next year. One heck of a report there Wayne. I always enjoy your "What I did this summer." reports, thanks for taking the time.
  5. No need for debate, we all know it's a pickereye.
  6. http://www.discountrvmarine.com/ Bill is a good guy to deal with if you're looking for something north of the 401.
  7. Were you looking over my shoulder Wayne? lol!
  8. Send Mercman a PM with what you need Ron. He's helped me and a few others that I know of on the board. Service and price were great.
  9. A couple of buddies have the BPS Gortex suits and have been happy with them for the last 3 seasons. . I bit cheaper than the 100mph suits. I ordered my suit from Cabelas (Guidewear) and have no complaints with the fit. Great suit as well.
  10. That is an AWESOME deed!! Great to hear the stories of others jumping in when the time arises. I'm pretty sure that any OFCer would do any of the good deeds that others have mentioned and others that have not been. A good bunch of people here despite the occasional hockey, musky or rainbow debate.
  11. GRAFFITI!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I picked up a whole black garbage sack full off garbage from there the other day. The Graffiti appeared in the last week. This is locals doing this...i even have an idea who but i dont know last names or where they live....but they will be challenged next time if i see them there...F$#@#ing BRING IT is what i say, these idiots dont deserve what they have up here...maybe they need to get out for a while...you know ...maybe go further than Ignace....then they might appreciate what they have...but i doubt it....YOU CANT FIX STOOPID.....BUT YOU CAN BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF IT TO MAKE YOURSELF FEEL BETTER! Rant over..... That's really sucks Simon! A shame that crap happens and pisses me right off as well.
  12. Roloff better watch those hooks as he sniffing those fish. Great companion you have there Simon and some nice fish to boot! A shame about the paint on the rock. Is it marking something, other than your fishing spot or just graffiti?
  13. Good stuff Brian!! As cool as that would be Cliff, the answer is no. lol! Although when I was a wee lad we did have a hawk as a pet for a few days. Bird got away from it's owner so we took care of it until we found them. It was very cool and a big hit with my friends at the time. I believe he is well aware of that Bill. Just something extra he wanted, not sure why. The catch was a bit tricky because the bird could still move around quite well considering the damaged wing. Pretty impressive actually, I'm guessing it's just the survival instinct that kicks in.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Will update as the news comes in. Certainly is nice to know that there are places that can help out our wildlife. With all of the urbanization, it's the least we can do for them. Great story as well Joe - good stuff!
  15. No words required, pictures say it all. Looks like a great day to stay inside, unless you want to shovel out the boat. Or as Joey said, get the sled all gassed up and go for a ride. Not what you were hoping for weather wise I'm sure. I'll pass on that weather for a couple of months at least.
  16. Have seen it done and it works great. I'm guessing that a grinder or steel cutting blade could do some of the cutting. Welding seems to be key to making it air tight. One guy talked about riveting the stack in place, not sure that I would trust that. Maybe nuts and bolts and pack the seams with a fireplace door gasket. The big thing is to make absolutely sure that the tank is free of propane. Lots of videos on YouTube and some good ideas
  17. Incredible surprise and nice catch!! Coo pics too.
  18. Last Friday I was leaving work and noticed a few co-workers standing out by the road. I went over to see what was going on and as I approached then I noticed this beautiful hawk that was sitting on the planter box. It had been there for a couple of hours already and was obviously injured and unable to fly (broken wing we suspect.) My co-workers had made several calls to the usual animal control places who said they were sending someone out but had not seen anyone as of yet. A few more calls and we got through to a wildlife centre. They said if we caught it they would take it in the morning. After some instructions on how to capture it, myself and a co-worker and a passerby put the plan into action. Not surprising that the bird wasn't too interested in our plan. After about 10 minutes chasing the bird around and keeping it away from traffic, we got it and put it in it's temporary home for the night. No more harm to the bird or to us. Our fledgling was in good health when taken in. It was going for x-rays to see what was the problem and would be accessed after that point to decided what the next step would be. They felt quite strongly that a full recovery would be possible and would update us with the progress as time goes on. Will keep you posted. Here's a pic of our feathered friend before we had our plan in place, just a beautiful bird. Not my picture hence the copyright.
  19. Speechless....Just an incredible report!!
  20. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Kelvin. Great to see you on the board.
  21. And I thought you had gone to salmon school without me. Great report Joey, love the pics.
  22. Good fishing guys! An awesome end to the season.
  23. Roloff sure makes for a great fishing partner! Great report and I'm sure that many of us are jealous of that sweet shore spot. Thanks for the report.
