  1. Hi all, The fishing has been as good as the weather here on Wabigoon Lake. I had the pleasure of guiding a father and son duo and then ga grandpa and his grandson on their birthday treat. We got tons of walleye, BIG crappie and decent pike and musky action. Good Times!

  2. Well I managed to make the trip out to London today with a buddy to pick up my new reel. The "Tigers Eye" now has her little sister the "Cats Azz" at home. Now it's high time summer moved along and let fall get under way.

  3. I have a 2019 Rebel that I've had from new. Love it. Gas mileage can be decent on the highway if you have a lighter foot or using cruise.

  4. so, I use a St. Croix Premier MH 8 foot muskie rod, its also rated from 3/4 to 3 oz. I use a tranx 400A reel on it. if you are serious about muskie and big pike the tranx reels are worth the investment. They are strong, smooth and easy to cast. worth every penny. Ironically, the only muskie I have ever caught was NOT using my muskie rig, it was caught on my MH bass baitcasting rod, casting a #5 Mepps Black Fury. go figure lol

  5. Yeah , that the one, I sold mine mine to Bill Spicer back when he fished with other than a flyrod, that reel probably drove him to give up centerpinning.

  6. The one pictured is 5" and has the knurled rim, mostly worn off now. lol Yes, I too had to file down the overly large foot to get it to fit the reel seat. The 4.5" reel is smooth edged. I still have my Grice and Young as well, they were a bitch for line getting behind the spool, but the spool release was quick and easy.

  7. I ended up buying a 2019 Ram Laramie with 71km in late June. So far I love it! Mileage is a lot better that what I expected. We drove to Florida and average 10.5 km/100 and since then about 12.5 in mixed driving. I drive the speed limit (as we all should) so that helps.

  8. HAHAHA , mine is one of those LG Stantons as well, I just thought they were real Stantons that Lorne put one of his stickers on , mine has the knurled rim that I actually like and handles, buddy got there late , he had one of the handleless ones . I do recall they came with a gawd awful long reel seat foot that took a bit of filing to get into the seat on my rod. Was a a step up from the Grice and Young Avon that I got there as well, hated it when line got behind the spool

  9. It has been a very long time since I have posted anything, Life gets in the way sometimes I suppose. Last week I got out of the big smoke and up north. I absolutely had some amazing sunsets and sunrises on the water. also love camp fires and was pre planning my fishing route for early the next morning while I listened to the fire crackle. My campfire planning paid off and early morning at about 6am just before sunrise I hooked this beauty "eye" trolling a husky jerk over, under water humps. Over 3lbs and my Gf and I had a fantastic breakfast with this beauty. there is nothing like fresh caught fish!!! I had wood to split and work to do so I didn't get out that night but I did get another amazing fire going before bed. My favourite way to end the day I am fishing starting on Thursday 10 of 14 days with the weather going to be amazing. I will try to report again from, Magnetawan, Nipissing, and Marten River area.

  10. Way back when I owned a bass boat that did 60+ mph and jet skis seadoos topped out at about 40 mph, I was out fishing having a good day when 2 guys on jet skis started buzzing my boat and turning at the last second to send a big splash my way i I decided to teach them how to make a big splash so I took off and followed them, quickly overtook them trimmed my motor to send out a rooster tail 20 ft high and 60 ft back from the boat and just flooded the to guys They had to stop their machines so I stopped mine , they took off again and so did I drowning the poor buggers again. One of them turned and went the other way so I just kept on the one guy every time he tried to move I soaked him good. They quit trying to soak me so I guess I won the water fight but I could see the other guy close to the shoreline so I paid him a visit and played one more time The other guy showed up too so I talked to them and asked why they didn’t want to play anymore. They said they didn’t mean anything by splashing me, they were just having fun. I said me too and I’m not tired of the fun yet They said yeah we get the point. So I asked where to you live , they said just right there he was his way home when I soaked him the last time so I said good stay there till you see me leave the lake. If I see you come back I will will continue to play the game and if I hear anyone else say a jet ski splashed them I will spend the whole summer playing the game they went home and I went back to catching bass

  11. Yep, I was out on Loughborough Lake a number of years ago, fishing in front of a multi-millionaire's "cottage". Spring of the year and we found a good number of big bluegills, so we were not moving any time soon. They apparently believed that they owned the water in front of their cottage!!! First they played loud music at us. I sang louder than their music - my version of The House of the Rising Sun, if memory serves me. They turned off the music and some young man came down to the dock, lit up a jetski, and started buzzing close to us. So each time he went past, I cast directly at him. And to make sure they got the point, when we needed to relieve ourselves, we did so in their direction. Two can play that game........... Doug

  12. We were casting a bay one evening when 2 clowns on a jetski decided to mess around with us. They came in close and started doing donuts around us for about 5 minutes then took off. They only got 100 yards and tried to make another sharp turn but instead rolled the machine over. We could hear one of them screaming in pain in the water so we motored over and asked if he was hurt and he said yes, it's my back. I said "ahhh, that's a shame" and continued on our way.
