  2. The last Tales from Post seemed to get a solid response so I have added a new one This is Tales from The Lodge - an interview with Gord Bastable, owner of Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake It was a really interesting chat and a bit of an eye opener about a day in the life of running a fishing camp https://www.northernjacks.com/post/tales-from-the-lodge Cheers and thanks for reading Andrew

  3. LOL I thought I had a basic no fancy gadget truck. Well turns out it is smarter then the average newf . Start it up and I got mail . Open and note says, rear right turn signal light is not working .I was like,WHATTTTTT ????? Sure as heck,it,s blown. I tried to find the key board feature to return a thank you mail, but that must be an extra gadget that I need to purchase . Pretty cool feature .

  4. Yes, goofing off does not mean gainfully employed. Hard to see the Hydro One trucks lined up at McD's in the mid morning, and then the township trucks, etc.

  5. Sorry Brian and I can understand an employee's dislike being watched or on camera; but an employer has the right to know what's going on. What's the issue, if you're doing the assigned job who gives a rat's ass if you're being recorded? If anything it'll let the employer know he has a good employee. Dan. PS: Yes I have video cameras at my shop. Some outside, some in the office and some in the work area. Not so much to "SPY" on my guys; but to have a record on video, with time, date and hopefully a face for the cops to get the piece of crap that broke into my shop.

  7. Easy. Boat guys all do this to work on their hull. Just use the trailer jack to lower the front as much as possible. Now pile supports like cement blocks with wood under each back corner as close to the hull as possible. Now just jack up the front and the rear now rests on the supports and you can easily put supports like blocks with wood to cushion, under the front sides but IMHO best to use a long beam like a 4 X 4. Can do it so the trailer can be driven out from underneath to allow almost complete access to do your work. But of course ensure you use sturdy supports and cushion things so the hull doesn't get scratched on, say, cement blocks.

  9. Nice feature I suppose, if one needs to know where the truck is. Of course the other side of my brain says this is just another piece of technology used to track and control people.
