  1. Ok I know I sound off the wall; but the automotive industry has been hammered with all kinds of restrictions towards emissions. Oh my God a gas cap has been leaking 2.1 PPM (Parts Per Million) turn the check engine light on; you need to get that fixed! Then some special arts person thinks, it'll look cool to burn down a whole car for his shot on a movie? Which we all know that 75% of vehicles today are assembled with plastic. There's no harmful fumes coming off that; beside the smoke will "dissipate" and not cause an environment issue. Again sorry for the rant; but? Dan.

  2. There is no question that the year has been difficult. Everyday we wake up and face life a little differently than we did before, and that is surely a stress for many... No matter where each person stands in their beliefs to Covid, also be aware of another contagion which seemingly troubles more and more people. It is called intolerance. It is an illness born in moments of stress, anxiety, fear, helplessness or hopelessness, and is often one's self-defence in their attempts to ward off personal despair or misunderstanding. We can honestly say that many days this past year have bothered us all, considering this moving forward, we just might find a better acceptance and some easier answers if we remain empathetic for each other. Best wishes for a happy and hopeful, healthy holiday season. Worry less in the moment about how much to give or how many to give to, and take on the Christmas spirit of simply giving and sharing the best of what you can and who you are.

  4. Ordering pizza in our new world CALLER: Is this Gordon's Pizza? GOOGLE: No sir, it's Google Pizza. CALLER: I must have dialed a wrong number. Sorry. GOOGLE: No sir, Google bought Gordon’s Pizza last month. CALLER: OK. I would like to order a pizza. GOOGLE: Do you want your usual, sir? CALLER: My usual? You know me? GOOGLE: According to our caller ID data sheet, the last 12 times you called you ordered an extra-large pizza with three cheeses, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and meatballs on a thick crust. CALLER: OK! That’s what I want ... GOOGLE: May I suggest that this time you order a pizza with ricotta, arugula, sun-dried tomatoes and olives on a whole wheat gluten-free thin crust? CALLER: What? I detest vegetable pizza! GOOGLE: Your cholesterol is not good, sir. CALLER: How the hell do you know! GOOGLE: Well, we cross-referenced your home phone number with your medical records. We have the result of your blood tests for the last 7 years. CALLER: Okay, but I do not want your rotten vegetable pizza! I already take medication for my cholesterol. GOOGLE: Excuse me sir, but you have not taken your medication regularly. According to our database, you only purchased abox of 30 cholesterol tablets once, at Drug RX Network, 4 months ago. CALLER: I bought more from another drugstore. GOOGLE: That doesn’t show on your credit card statement. CALLER: I paid in cash! GOOGLE: But you did not withdraw enough cash according to your bank statement. CALLER: I have other sources of cash. GOOGLE: That doesn’t show on your last tax return unless you bought them using an undeclared income source, which is against the law. CALLER: WHAT THE HELL! GOOGLE: I'm sorry, sir, we use such information only with the sole intention of helping you. CALLER: Enough already! I'm sick to death of Google, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and all the others. I'm going to an island without internet, cable TV, where there is no cell phone service and no one to watch me or spy on me. GOOGLE: I understand sir, but you need to renew your passport first. It expired 6 weeks ago...

  5. Read it. The mnr are NOT restricting any types of fishing because of covid. Now the municipalities could block access to the lakes but they don’t regulate huts, so if you can access the lake you can fish

  11. I'll begin vaccinating those who choose to receive Moderna next month. It should be interesting, there may just be the opportunity to vaccinate Canada's entire most northern community, myself. Being that individuals can accept or decline, I'll respect anyone's choice when I offer it. Hopefully, people are beyond Facebook educated by then and best able to control their opinions and just respectfully take the shot in the arm, or not.

  12. I read somewhere that they are predicting the average increase in food cost will be around $600 yearly per household. I have always watched the flyers and stocked up on things we use regularly, and I have noticed less deals and higher average prices most of this year. I think that $600 figure will be much higher.

  13. With prices going up on almost everything and with the increased carbon tax set to go up significantly food costs are going to go through the roof. Watching for these specials is going to become even more important. A couple of weeks ago Valuemart had beef tenderloins on for $5.99/lb, I wish I had loaded up on those, that's cheaper than stewing beef. This pork sholder will yield almost 20 meals, not bad for about $10.00.
