Haven't had the boat out as of yet, but my son and I have been hitting local rivers and inlets around Innisfil on Simcoe. Today he caught a 7-8 pound Bowfin. He caught it all by himself, I'm surprised the line didn't snap! Got a good picture of it flipping out of our hands. He managed to catch some sunfish, rockbass, bass, perch, Bowfin, and 2 gobies today which we killed.

Oh yeah ,juve hall over night camp. lol 😂

You know what? I’m gonna do this and video it. I’ll at least take it apart as far as I did. I don’t think I want to go beyond taking apart the worm gear etc. I’ll post the video to YouTube and see where we get

I fished the Kawarthas since the 50's and and also a LOT of time on Quinte plus Lake St. Clair , the Ottawa and St. Lawrence Rivers but my favorite place of all is chasing muskies on the West Arm of Nippissing. I got out of fishing a couple years back and sold everything including my boat but a small group of us still go to Nip every year and rent a couple cabins and have as much fun as always.

It was a teen fishermans dream Brian. Could walk to the river that I fished almost every day or catch the train and be at the beach in 20. Winters could be an adventure with rivers rising so fast that you could be fishing the eddys one minute from dry land and the have water past your ankles the next. The beaches and piers could be dangerous with big tides...lots of fun though.

I have had Almost all the brands before. Merc use to be the best but that has not been true in a very long time and imo i think they are the worst of them all today, Evenrude etec scares me long term and now with them not making motors i would not touch them. Also i have blown up 6 e tec snowmoblie engines in 12 years so i would pass on evenrude now So when i order my new boat last month i went with Yamaha this will be my first one but to be honest i here nothing but good things about them. They are in all the remote places i go. So Yamaha for Quiality Evenrude for power and speed Merc for Price.

Very cool! I can’t wait to try this. That 27.5” walleye was exactly the same as my PB on the French. The ONLY fish we caught all day, last pass in, almost pitch dark. Sometimes pays to stay out until the bitter end on a bad day of fishing (and in that case not so bitter)
