Overcapacity magazines were "prohibited devices" already for all centre fire rifles and handguns. They are allowed for rimfire rifles only. There was lots of publicity about this in regards to some the .22 rimfire mags such as the Ruger 10/22 and Mossberg 715T high cap mags. These were allowed in Canada at one time but became prohibited basically overnight because somebody built a handgun that they would fit in. Since they now fit a handgun, unbeknownst to thousands of innocent owners, they suddenly became felons for owning prohibited devices without notice or any sort of an amnesty period.
Saw a post earlier today where one of the scary black guns on the list is actually an Airsoft gun made of plastic with the bright orange barrel.
One might think the law was put together by a bunch of people lacking grey matter. 🤬
Doug if you have a Food Basics store near you (there's 3 of them), go see if they have the Francois Hubert pie dough. Comes in 1kg frozen blocks, you can refreeze the unused portions. I used to make my own but this stuff is so easy to work with, roll it out almost paper thin, bakes nice and flaky. I can make 4 pie crusts and 4 lids from one block. http://www.lespatesdelile.com/en/vente-pate-a-tarte.php
There are some bolt action rifles included in the ban. But most or the banned firearms are semi-automatics that accept magazines.
But not all semi-automatics with magazines have been banned. For the most part, the ones that look like military firearms are banned; one that look like a traditional hunting rifle are still legal.
Magazines were already limited to five rounds, so they cannot legally fire a lot of rounds per minute. They can just fire five rounds very quickly before you have to reload. Although, if you were able to get an illegal large capacity magazine, you could fire a lot of rounds per minute.
Well all I can say is that I'm very relieved that the gang bangers who are the root of the gun problem will now have to turn in their Klyukva Rocket Launchers and Russian Artillery M1942 Anti-Tank Guns. I guess we'll be much safer now that they're stuck with their illegally obtained revolvers, 9mm lugers, and glocks.
Thanks for your strong stance and protecting us Justin but if you really think this is any sort of solution to gun crimes, you're kidding yourself and your minions.
Killer bees haven't really faded away. They just never made it this far north. They do have them in the southern states. They're not has bad as the media portrayed them back in the 70s; but they do kill people each year.
