  2. I'm confused, one min his lawyer says only 2 cases of trespassing in 30 years, then it goes too an everyday thing basically from the accused? Then it's (birdshot?) Never heard that once! Then it's grab this gun or his other one to finish the job if he wanted.....I think someone might be his friend? He sounds like an irresponsible gun owner!? From what I read he had lots of guns in his house not locked or in cases either? Is that the trespassers fault too? I think these boys took one for the team and got those guns out of his hands!!! I'm sure he has them back now,but won't be shooting at people to scare them off? Sorry I'm just reading another article from the crown that states he held the one fella for roughly a half hour with a loaded gun pointer in there direction? If he was worried about having the trespassers charged he or his wife could have EASILY called Then?! I think he knew he couldn't after the whole firing at the lads!!!

  4. East of Calgary. Bow River at Carseland weir, antique tractor, worlds strongest woman. The weir doesn't look all that impressive at this time as our lakes and rivers are at an all time record low due to our drought for the past few seasons. Should see and hear this thing when it's at full bore. It's actually quite scary.
  5. Yes, the city's changed since I was kid growing up in High Park in the 60's & 70's, but it's still the same town in a lot of ways. 3 million people, but it remains a city of neighborhoods. The horse stables at Sunnybrook (Leslie just north of Eglinton) are still there...my daughter used to ride there when she lived in Leaside. A little bit of the countryside in the middle of a metropolis.
  6. I wonder what it would cost the Leafs to bring Brady Tkachuk here. He doesn't seem happy especially how things went for them this year.
  7. Back bays on Tea or the river? was hoping to find some crappie on the Severn or GP
  8. What time of year will dictate where you're fishing... When are you planning on going?
  9. Big Chute ramp has been permanently closed. If you want to fish that water, launch at the marina upstream. You aren't getting into Tea Lake unless you've got a high water year as well from under that bridge. There is however a free launch at Tea (right near the bridge) but the ramp is pretty steep. Park across the street in the parking lot. Also, all you'll be catching in those back bays this time of year are OOS bass. Spot you'll want to avoid.
  10. Vito is one of the best on the lake. Runs a beautiful 38ft Tiara. https://lordofthekings.ca/
  11. Looking to take out some clients on Lake O for some good times. Someone with a decent sized boat able to accommodate 6 guests. Any recommendations?
  12. So is the arrow Little Chute and the circle Big Chute? I see that there isn't a lock here but rather trolly-type ramp that carries boats down a steep embankment?
  13. What about upstream of Big Chute? I see a boat launch there that seems to put you into different waters. Can you nauvitgate without using locks to go downstream or upstream from this launch? I also see Tea Lake that looks like you can enter from under a bridge. Looks like such an interesting area to cruise around in and cast some lures and see what happens! I imagine that the boat traffic is heavy especially weekends and summer...
  14. Thanks Pal, I appreciate it but that's the the wrong line rating and thus the ferrules would not fit.
  15. One of the main species I was hoping for too. Thanks for the info.
  16. Right now any of the local locks like Edmunds or Kilmarnock will be busy with folks looking for Crappies.
  17. Last week
  18. My son has some training up in Smith Falls for the next 6 weeks. I was thinking of taking some time off work to visit him for 3 or 4 days and also get some fishing in. Since there seems to be a whole lot of water around there, was wondering what the shore fishing opportunities are like in that area? And what kind of fish should I expect to catch this time of year?
  19. Spiel if you want I can get this and send it up to you if you want. https://www.ebay.com/itm/335357217468?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=335357217468&targetid=2299003535955&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1027028&poi=&campaignid=21214315381&mkgroupid=161363866036&rlsatarget=pla-2299003535955&abcId=9407526&merchantid=6296724&gad_source=5&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsbCQpvuDhgMVEGZHAR1U9QQyEAQYByABEgKko_D_BwE Art
  20. What new songs have you added to your repertoire Brain? Gotta keep things fresh yah know! Go gettum! HH
  21. I know it's a long shot but does anyone have an old Loomis FR1089 GL3 (mahogany colour fly rod) sitting around. More specifically an unbroken tip section? PM me if you you do please and thank you.
  22. Read the room fellas, you missed the temperature, and you're overcooking the roast. Further, ever tried charging a child under 12 for a grip and grin? Nothing bad will ever come of this, even if posted on facebook.
  23. I agree Lew....but the photo should never have been posted on the internet in the first place. Some of the responses and reactions to the photo of an OOS fish were entirely predictable. As Smitty55 noted, these kind of photos usually result in instant deletion and even suspension of the OP on most fishing related forums/sites. I don't have a problem with taking a quick photo in this instance...but put it in the family album, and explain to the young lad why you can't post it where 3 billion people may see it....and it becomes a teaching moment around the respect for regulations and ethics. As a father of 2, and a grandfather of 4, that's what I would've done.
  24. For spring pike? No. GPool is where you'll want to target. Little Chute comes out of Six Mile and dumps into GPool. East end of the lake by Big Chute.
  25. I've got zero issues with the kid getting a photo with this fish. It's the people who would take advantage of the proposed rule change I'd have an issue with.
  26. Nice fish. We all remember our first 😆
  27. like I said, the law should be changed. I know people are disagreeing with me on that but this case is a perfect example where an a quick photo should be allowed as long as you aren't messing around with it for 5 min out of the water etc.
