Next year I'm going back to the Nipigon area for 2 weeks. Looking forward to finally getting a few brook trout. The lakes so big that the launches I use will be nearly 3 hours apart.  If too windy we but into Paint Lake and fish the Sturgeon River. Great area, great adventure and  great fishing. But got to be very prepared driving on those rugged logging roads towing a boat.

So lets hear about your fishing plans and expectations for 26.

Nipigon would be great. I’d need to find a partner for that trip

I hope to get some good fishing closer to home.  Lake Erie, st Clair. GB and some back lakes are planned so far.

GB salmon hasn’t been very good maybe I’ll do nippissing instead.  if there’s a hot bite somewhere I hope to be on it.

Hi Glen if you do find someone let me know (assuming you have a boat). I could give you an idea what to expect, where to go,etc. The fishing can be very good, but it's very rugged territory

We have 2 Nipigon trips planned next year. One in June, launching at Alexander Dam and fishing rhe lower river. Then in September out of Pine Portage launch fishing the upper river. The June trip includes stops enroute at the Soo for Atlantics and Steelhead, the Steel River, and Rossport for Coasters. The September trip is a stop on the way to our annual pilgrimage to Eagle Lake (Dryden) to chase Musky.

There's something magical about the Nip that keeps calling my name !

lots of things cooking

A possible trip to florida in March to see jays spring training and do a guided trip with Garret Rocamora in the harris chain for giant largies

a trip to the chickahominy river again possibly?

a trip down to ohio for early season bass with my club.

Then next year I hope to do a bit more club fishing than this year since I wont be going out of country for multiple weeks in the middle of summer.

FYI anyone looking for a way to learn bass fishing, our club is set up to match boaters with non-boaters. We fish as teams and the events only cost $140 for co anglers. You will be matched with a boater and get to fish for the cost of your entry. Its a crazy opportunity to get matched with some of the best bass anglers in the entire country and go fishing for the day. Shoot me a message if this is something that youve ever considered!

Nothing solid for '26 just yet.  Heading down to Aruba in 2 weeks, going to chase some bonefish.   Would love to get back to Nipigon, it's been a few years since I've been up there.  It's definitely magical.

I've sold my boat, bought a 10 footer to strap on my ATV. Going back to my grass roots and hitting the back lakes I've discovered in my late teens/early 20's.

I've spent most of September in Wawa to Chapleau this year.
