I essentially plug my boat in every time I get back to the dock without bothering to ensure my motor is shut off…don’t think it’s ever caused an issue for me
Terry
I see no reason to unplug the trolling motor while charging, mine is hardwired in so it never gets unplugged
Fisherman
I would suspect the only reason it may be said because "some" people forget/neglect/insert adjective to ensure their trolling motor is actually shut off and not drawing power. It would result in a long time before the battery(ies) are fully charged again. Wasn't pointing at Akrisoner, you just happened to mention it. RickOnt
As Terry said 'if it is hardwired it would never be unplugged' So I guess it does not really matter
BillM
I've never unplugged my Terrova when I charge the batteries. Only time it gets unplugged is when it's removed.
