Iced a nice pike.

Hi all, 

Got on the ice for the first time for the 2023/24 season. There was 6” of clear black ice, surprising given the mild weather. Got a couple small walleye and missed a few bites too, but the pike was the highlight, 39”er on  6lb test.

I miss early ice pike in pointe au baril. 
 

we used to fish on the worst ice ever right in front of our place…if you went in you ran inside and stripped down and jumped in the hot tub!

I can deal with ya catching the pike,no big deal ( nice one by the way ) but ya start catching those whities,well,I get a bit outofsorts.

Been a while since I got into whities Brian, catch the odd one here and there, but my go to lake feels like it just gets worse every year, it gets hit pretty hard the last decade, shame really, groups of 10 people keeping a limit of 12 per person. IThey we’re tanks in that lake, keep 4 and you have 15lbs of good meat….oh well, when it’s gone it’s gone
