If you have a shallow ramp you would have to back far in.   If it's windy you still need someone to hold the boat to keep it in line with the bunks or rollers.  Might be nice if you're a millionaire and have wave control by your dock.

I put my Baron on the trailer right to the stop roller with the engine and some years in late September/Early October the water is pretty skinny, so I could use this gizmo.. but I wouldn't.

It doesn't look like a bad idea; but i know of a number of marinas that would have a hemorrhage, if they caught you power loading your boat.

That looks slick but I wouldn’t risk the cost and time to install. Like others have mentioned, ramp slope, waves/wind etc could make it difficult and possibly put  strains on it and the boat. The video shows some flexing in components. Not sure if it would accept too many sloppy or rammy couplings. Having side guide boards or roller posts on the trailer would surely help I’d think.

I think this niche item has a very limited group of users,  the rich and lazy and then maybe those that are not able to crank the winch.  For those, a simple 12 volt winch works wonders.  Friend of mine has one on his trailer, free wheel out, power in.  The power source is the 7 pin connector at the back of his truck, takes about a minute for full retrieve.  When I'm no longer capable, that will be my option.
