mistaredone Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 So I blew a bearing on the 407. I've got everything replaced but the dust cap. Not sure if it's from wear on the hub or it's just an odd size but I can't find a fit. Will I be able to continue my trip without a dust cap or do I need to turn around?
porkpie Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 Take a pair of pliers and flair the inside of the dust cap, then jam it on. It I'll get you by. There is probably some wear on the inside of the hub. You may consider replacing it eventually.
misfish Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 Duct tape and a coke can. Cut the can in half and put over the hub and tape it. Dont laugh all, it works in a pinch like this.
